A video of Eliaquim Mangala was prematurely released on the Manchester City website today.

The Premier League club are close to securing the signing of the player from FC Porto.

The five-minute video, which was shot for City TV, showed the France international arriving by private jet at Manchester Airport. That portion of the video is accompanied by the caption: “9am: French international defender Eliaquim Mangala arrives in Manchester.”

The next caption reads: “City’s newest signing en-route to his medical,” as the defender is then filmed being driven to Bridgewater Hospital where he is given a medical before eventually making the trip to Manchester City’s training ground.

Mangala is then shown giving a message to City fans: “I am here to help the team to win titles: the league, the cup and the Champions League.”

The France international then comments on his personal ambitions: “To play as many games as possible and to help the team the best I can to be champions of England.”

Club officials have said that their system was “hacked”, that the video should not have gone public and that the deal for the 23-year-old defender has still not been completed.

A spokesman for Manchester City said: “Our video storage system for City TV has been hacked and the video was leaked. The deal is not done or officially confirmed on our website.”

Mangala joined Porto in 2011 from the Belgian club Standard Liege.

His deal with Manchester City is reported to be in the region of £32million.

Mangala was rumored to be a transfer target of PSG, Manchester United and Barcelona.
