
<p>The USMNT has a potential new star in young midfielder <a href="https://www.transfermarkt.com/yunus-musah/profil/spieler/503991" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Yunus Musah</a>. Although his parents were Ghanaians, he spent the vast majority of his formative years in Europe, namely in Italy and England.</p>



<p>He attended the prestigious Arsenal Academy for seven years of his childhood. Early in his career, Musah even played for the England youth national team before committing to the United States in 2021.</p>



<p>It wasn’t until 2019 that the Spanish club Valencia signed the 20-year-old midfielder. His 108 games played for the Mestalla outfit and 27 for the USMNT are both impressive totals at the age of just 20.</p>



<h2>AC Milan sees Yunus Musah as ideal replacement for Sandro Tonali</h2>



<p>A number of elite teams have taken notice of his play. Yet, AC Milan singled Yunus Musah out as a player they aim to add to its midfield. The San Siro side is now in discussions with Musah to <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/newcastle-nearing-75-million-deal-with-ac-milan-for-tonali-20230622-WST-439004.html">replace Sandro Tonali</a>. The Italian is joining Premier League side Newcastle for a massive $75 million fee. </p>

<p>There has been interest in the midfielder for a while. Negotiations reached a new phase with a focus on closing the deal as soon as possible. It is estimated that a price of about $22 million would be enough to entice the American international away from <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/la-liga-tv-schedule/">La Liga</a>.</p>



<h5>Would Yunus Musah take up non-EU spot?</h5>



<p>The fact that Musah holds a Spanish passport as a result of his time spent at Valencia makes him a vital asset to the team. In other words, the 20-year-old may be signed by AC Milan without using up one of their precious non-EU player quota spots.</p>

<p>United States men’s national team star Yunus Musah may be on the move this summer. The talented midfielder is reportedly a possible target for <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/teams/west-ham-tv-schedule/">West Ham</a>. Musah currently plays for Spanish side Valencia after departing the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/arsenal-tv-schedule/">Arsenal</a> youth ranks in 2019.</p>



<p>West Ham are almost certain to part ways with its captain Declan Rice. The superstar looks <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/arsenal-confident-of-signing-declan-rice-for-90-million-20230608-WST-436609.html">likely to join Arsenal</a> this summer in a deal that could reach up to $130 million. Rice is widely regarded as one of the top central midfielders in the world at the moment. Other clubs, such as <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/bayern-munich-tv-schedule/">Bayern Munich</a> and <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/manchester-united-tv-schedule/">Manchester United</a>, have been interested in the English international as well. However, it seems as if Rice has his eyes on the Gunners.</p>



<p>Should Rice depart east London, the club will have a major hole to fill. Rice has been a mainstay in the senior team since rising through the team ranks in 2017. In fact, the dynamic defensive midfielder has averaged 35 <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/premier-league-tv-schedule/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Premier League</a> appearances each year over the last five seasons.</p>



<h5>Valencia reportedly demanding fee</h5>



<p>Although they will likely lose Rice, West Ham would then receive a ton of money to spend on reinforcements. According to <em>Revelo</em>, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12192071/West-Ham-considering-bid-Yunus-Musah-replace-Declan-Rice.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Valencia would be willing to sell Yunus Musah</a> to West Ham for around $26 million. While not pocket change, this fee would only be a small fraction of the fee that the Hammers will receive for Rice. This would leave the club will plenty of money to spend on other targets.</p>



<p>Much like Rice, Musah has also gained incredible experience in a relatively short amount of time. The <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/usmnt-tv-schedule/">USMNT</a> midfielder has already racked up over 100 total senior appearances for the Spanish side.</p>

<h2>Yunus Musah has ties with England, but not West Ham</h2>



<p>Musah has history in England as well. He moved to London at the age of nine to sign with Arsenal. The youngster then spent seven years in England and even initially represented the Three Lions youth setup before switching allegiance to the U.S. Along with Musah, West Ham has also been <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/west-ham-united-trying-to-sign-mexico-midfielder-edson-alvarez-20230609-WST-436853.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">linked</a> with Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse.</p>

<p>United States men’s national team midfielder Yunus Musah attracted transfer target interest following his solid display at the <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/category/world-cup-2022/">World Cup</a>. The 20-year-old playmaker formed a formidable partnership in the middle of the pitch alongside Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie.</p>



<p>Musah currently plays for Valencia at the club level. The Spanish side already have the American tied down to a deal until 2026, but reports suggest that they are willing to extend his current contract. Along with the lengthy contract, Musah also has a $105 million release clause as well. However, potential buyers would most likely not have to spend the full amount to purchase the midfielder.</p>



<h2>Premier League trio have transfer target set on Yunus Musah</h2>



<p><a href="https:\/\/www.90min.com/posts/premier-league-giants-express-interest-yunus-musah" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">90min</a> has claimed that Valencia has opened contract talks with Musah to fend off interest. The outlet also says that a trio of Premier League giants are circling the American midfielder. <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/teams/chelsea-tv-schedule/">Chelsea</a> and <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/teams/liverpool-tv-schedule/">Liverpool</a> have supposedly contacted Musah’s representatives, while <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/teams/arsenal-tv-schedule/">Arsenal</a> have reportedly sent scouts to his World Cup matches.</p>



<p>Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed the reports and added <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/teams/inter-milan-tv-schedule/">Inter Milan</a> to the list of possible destinations as well. “Yunus Musah is in the list of Premier League clubs,” <a href="https:\/\/www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/fabrizio-romanos-here-we-go-some-usmnt-world-cup-players-could-change-clubs-as-early-as-january/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">said</a> Romano. “Arsenal recently sent their scouts to monitor him, but there are also other Premier League giants well informed, Inter Milan are interested too. He could leave Valencia between January and June.”</p>

<p>Musah was previously part of Arsenal’s youth setup before departing for Spain in 2019. Signing for the Gunners at the age of nine, the midfielder spent seven seasons in Arsenal’s academy. Musah was also an England youth international as well before switching national teams as a senior player.</p>



<h5>Transfer fee would most likely not be release clause</h5>



<p>Despite the massive release clause at Valencia, Musah’s agent told <a href="https:\/\/www.calciomercato.com/news/ag-musah-a-cm-da-castelfranco-al-mondiale-la-juve-ci-ha-provato--66828" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Calciomercato</a> last month that his client could leave Spain for as low as $31-$42 million. The agent also claimed that the Premier League and Serie A have “an advantage for his future.”</p>



<p>Valencia are currently 10th in the LaLiga table at the moment. They do, however, hold all of the power regarding Musah’s immediate future though. As the midfielder’s current contract doesn’t expire until 2026, a potential bidding war between the big clubs could benefit the Spanish side.</p>
