<p>“We want to get as many points and wins as we can. It is very important that we play the same way at Selhurst Park or in the away games.</p>



<p>“We always need to trust in ourselves, our teammates and what we do. It’s not a sprint or a marathon but maybe [a 5k] or something like that. I am confident we will reach our goal and that we can improve as a team and individually.”</p>

<p>Even though Glasner was eager to discuss Hodgson’s health, he did confess that he had started negotiations with the club’s American partners in the fall. “First of all, the most important thing is that Roy is well and healthy — and I wish him all the best.</p>



<p>“[My arrival] came faster than maybe we thought and wanted it to be, but it doesn’t change many things. We have three training sessions and then first the game against Burnley. I have watched many games. I was preparing for the summer and thought maybe I had more time.</p>



<p>“We have many key players injured, but I see a team with great characters. They showed it at Everton.”</p>



<p>The 1-1 draw between Everton and Crystal Palace on Monday showed glimpses of Glasner’s flair. The 49-year-old coach did not have much of an effect on the Eagles during the game. However, the 3-4-3 formation they are using now is indicative of the direction they are heading in.</p>



<p>His aggressive play may have to wait a little longer to be fully effective, however, since he will not have thrilling talents Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise. But one can tell a lot about Glasner’s coaching abilities from his time managing Bundesliga teams Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.</p>

<p>He will have mixed reactions after Monday’s draw. The result keeps Palace five points above the drop zone. <h2>Everton rallies for a draw against Crystal Palace</h2>



<p>Sean Dyche’s squad had a valiant response following Ayew’s opener on the night. Strong chances from James Garner and Dominic Calvert-Lewin either went wide or forced a save out of Palace shot-stopper Sam Johnstone. However, the chances built up pressure on the Palace back line. Much like a week earlier against Chelsea, a late goal was coming.</p>



<p>That arrived in the 84th minute via Amadou Onana. A floated ball in allowed the Belgian international to rise among the rest to <a href="https://twitter.com/NBCSportsSoccer/status/1759695534623744380" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">power the ball into the back of the net</a>. Everton had missed several headers earlier in the contest, particularly from Calvert-Lewin, but Onana’s goal was a much-deserved equalizer.</p>



<p>Palace, content with a point on the road against a relegation rival, sapped the energy out of the game to ensure it returned south with a point. </p>

<p>With the point secured, Oliver Glasner begins his work at Palace with the role of guiding the club to safety. <p>It seems that John Textor, a key stakeholder, has chosen Glasner to succeed Hodgson at the helm of Palace. At Selhurst Park, he is both ready and eager to face the task. But Hodgson is “ready to get out of bed and lead Palace at Goodison Park on Monday”.</p>



<h2>Does Glasner have a better record than Hodgson?</h2>



<p>On the other hand, <a href="https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1758933086614474875" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Romano said on Saturday</a> that Glasner would “take his first Palace training session on Tuesday,” providing yet another update. For the crucial match against Everton, this indicates that either Hodgson or his assistant Paddy McCarthy will be in charge.</p>



<p>During his 45-year managerial career, Hodgson has coached several clubs and national teams. These include Inter, Fulham, Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, West Bromwich, and Palace.</p>

<p>The 49-year-old’s squad placed eighth in the Bundesliga last year. German outlet <em><a href="https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/sport/fussball/eintracht-frankfurt/ploetzlich-trainer-alarm-bei-frankfurt-er-koennte-glasner-nachfolger-werden-83286130.bild.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bild</a></em> is reporting that the north London outfit is interested in Glasner should its managerial position open up.</p>



<p>Antonio Conte is still at the helm with <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/tottenham-tv-schedule/">Spurs</a> as of Wednesday afternoon. The Italian has been with the club since November of 2021. However, the coach’s latest <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/conte-explodes-at-spurs-players-in-fiery-press-conference-20230318-WST-423720.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">postgame outburst</a> has put his job in jeopardy. After watching his team throw away a 3-1 lead against cellar dwellers Southampton, Conte ripped his players. He called the squad “selfish” and claimed that the team is “used” to losing. <h5>Austrian coach recently won European silverware</h5>



<p>Glasner is under contract with the German team until the summer of 2024. This was despite finishing a disappointing 11th in the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/bundesliga-tv-schedule/">Bundesliga</a> table that year. Frankfurt are currently sixth in the German top flight division during the current campaign.</p>



<p>The German club even faced Spurs earlier in the season. Glasner’s crew were in <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/champions-league-tv-schedule/">Champions League</a> Group D alongside the Premier League outfit. Frankfurt drew Spurs 0-0 at home, before losing 3-2 in London back in October. Both clubs managed to qualify for the knockout round.
