
<p>Inter Milan looks set to soon sign Benjamin Pavard from <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/teams/bayern-munich-tv-schedule/">Bayern Munich</a>. The Italian club has been in negotiations with the German giants regarding Pavard for weeks. However, it seems as if <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/teams/inter-milan-tv-schedule/">Inter</a> will finally land the versatile France international in the coming days.</p>



<p>Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is claiming that the two teams have agreed on a base fee of around $32 million. The deal will also include about $2 million of potential add-ons as well. Pavard is set to travel to Italy on Tuesday, with hopes of completing a medical the following day.</p>



<h2>Defender departs Bayern despite being key figure at club</h2>



<p>Pavard has been a mainstay in Bayern’s defense since he arrived at the club in 2019. The French defender was essentially an immediate success with the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/bundesliga-tv-schedule/">Bundesliga</a> side. The club collected the league title, <a href="https://www.worldsoccertalk.com/dfb-pokal-tv-schedule-and-streaming-links">DFB-Pokal</a>, and <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/champions-league-tv-schedule/">Champions League</a> with Pavard as a regular starter in his first season in Bavaria.</p>

<p>Despite becoming a key player in the German club, Pavard was eager to join Inter this month. The 27-year-old Frenchman has not featured for the Bundesliga team since they lifted the DFL-Supercup in mid-August. Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel left Pavard on the bench for their opening league match of the current campaign. The defender was then ruled out of the following game due to illness.</p>



<h2>Pavard to become major part of Inter Milan rebuild</h2>



<p>Pavard looks set to become Inter’s 13th summer signing so far. The Champions League runners-up are currently attempting a rebuild after a host of players have departed the club. However, many of Inter’s deals so far have come either on loan or a free transfer. Pavard will soon become the club’s biggest purchase of the summer.</p>



<p>Inter coach Simone Inzaghi typically deploys a 3-5-2 formation utilizing wing-backs instead of traditional full-backs. This system will most likely mean that Pavard will slot in as the right-sided center-back with his new club. Matteo Darmian has played his position for the team’s two <a href="https://www.worldsoccertalk.com/serie-a-tv-schedule">Serie A</a> matches this season. However, the versatile defender can also play farther up the pitch at times.</p>

Pavard set to join Inter Milan from Bayern in huge deal

Inter Milan has reportedly agreed a big fee with Bayern Munich to sign versatile France international defender Benjamin Pavard.


<p>Benjamin Pavard may be out of <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/teams/bayern-munich-tv-schedule/">Bayern Munich</a> this summer as the French World Cup winner eyes a move to <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/teams/inter-milan-tv-schedule/">Inter Milan</a> in <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/serie-a-tv-schedule/">Serie A</a>. The Italian giants are working to close the deal today. </p>



<p>According to Italian journalist <a href="https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/inter-pavard-bayern-monaco-cifre-dettagli-calciomercato-serie-a" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Gianluca Di Marzio</a>, Inter is ready to shell out a package of just under $33 million. The first $30 million of that comes from a fixed transfer fee paid to Bayern Munich. The other $3 million comes from bonuses. More likely than not, that relates to performances or appearances. Di Marzio reports Inter is confident in getting the deal done because Pavard is actively looking at Inter as his next location. </p>



<p>At Bayern Munich, Pavard faces stiff competition for his traditional right-back location. Noussair Mazraoui started at right-back in Bayern’s 4-0 win over Werder Bremen in matchday one. Pavard did start the German Supercup against RB Leipzig. However, Thomas Tuchel pulled Pavard off at halftime as he tried to mix things up with the Bavarians losing, 2-0.</p>



<p>Bayern Munich also signed Raphael Guerreiro. While the German is traditionally a left-back, he could impact how Tuchel shapes up his defensive line.</p>

<h2>Inter Milan wants Benjamin Pavard to continue build</h2>



<p>Last season’s UEFA Champions League runner-up sees Pavard as a strong option to start at right-back. Even though the club already has both Denzel Dumfries and Matteo Darmian, Simone Inzaghi plays three at the back. As a result, Pavard could shift around the defense and provide more options.</p>



<p>Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta said that although an official announcement will not happen on Monday, things are in good shape for this deal. Marotta added that he wants Inter to have a mix of young and old players. Pavard, who is now 27 years old, can bring ample experience to Inter Milan. He won the World Cup in 2018 with France and the treble with Bayern Munich in the 2019/20 season. </p>
