Wayne Rooney's Injury Makes it Chelsea's Title to Lose

Without even kicking a ball, Chelsea were given a gift this week. One roll of Wayne Rooney's ankle has altered the dynamic of the entire 2009-10 EPL campaign, and has handed Carlo Ancelotti more than just a lifeline, but possibly the title itself. While the Italian would never admit that the championship may have been […]

Barcelona, We Meet Again

Since I'm new at EPL Talk, I'd like to talk a little bit more (before I discuss Wednesday's match) about my history as an Arsenal fan. Slowly becoming a soccer fan in college, a 2006 trip to Europe with my girlfriend really cemented my love of the Gunners. Arriving in Paris just days before the Champions League Final, little did I know what would await me. The year before, I had been in Israel during the Liverpool-Milan game. Taking a cursory interest, I sat down with several Israelis who were screaming about how dominant Milan were. As everyone knows, it didn't end up that way. But it was enough to turn me into a soccer fan for life.

Fan Diary #32 – Since Last We Spoke...

In my last post (before the United match), I was filled with cautious optimism. But ultimately I had every reason to believe Liverpool would put up a better fight at Old Trafford than they ended up doing. Even when the Reds are struggling, we tend to switch on and turn into a tougher, more combative side […]

Who Wants To Be A Football Manager?

The pleasures of playing football are easy enough to understand. It's a great sport and if you're any good you get a shed load of cash, the sexual attentions of fake blonde women, and a mock Tudor house full of 132" plasma TVs. Arsenal Pulls Off Miracle Draw Against Barcelona

There's a magic about soccer that sometimes feels like hypnotism. Whenever a goal is scored, it's almost as if everything that happened before it is erased from the person's mind. On Wednesday night, never mind the fact that Arsenal was outplayed for 75 minutes in their Champions League match against Barcelona. Instead focus on the […]
