U-S-A Chants At Premier League Matches Are Insulting

During Saturday's Manchester United against Chelsea match at Old Trafford, you may have heard the sarcastic chants from Chelsea supporters of "USA, USA, USA." The chants were directed at the Manchester United supporters. They were part tongue-in-cheek humor as well as a little bit of banter to wind up the Man United supporters and mock […]

Premier League Matchday 33: Key Observations

With so much of the focus in the build up to this Premier League weekend being on Manchester United against Chelsea, it was unfortunate that many of the other big clashes didn't get as much attention. Especially at this time of the season where every point means so much. I managed to watch 3.5 games […]

Arsenal Pulls Off Miracle Draw Against Barcelona

There's a magic about soccer that sometimes feels like hypnotism. Whenever a goal is scored, it's almost as if everything that happened before it is erased from the person's mind. On Wednesday night, never mind the fact that Arsenal was outplayed for 75 minutes in their Champions League match against Barcelona. Instead focus on the […]

Poll: Can Arsenal Beat Barcelona?

Who am I to outsmart Arsene Wenger, but I really feel that the Arsenal manager is making the wrong decision to play its typical brand of soccer against Barcelona in the Wednesday night Champions League match at Emirates Stadium. An open game from both sides will be entertaining but it'll be a brutal blow to […]

Van der Sar Saves Man United's Blushes Against Munich

As a neutral observer, the best thing that could have happened on Tuesday night in the Champions League was for Manchester United to lose. After Wayne Rooney scored one of the easiest goals he's ever scored in the second minute at the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich, it seemed as if this was going to […]

For the past several years in the United States, the majority of soccer fans who were watching Premier League matches saw — for the most part — the same games. The vast majority of us watched the Saturday 10am ET game on Fox Soccer Channel, as well as the 12:30pm ET one and the match […]

MLSsoccer.com: Where Did All The Goals Go?

Is Major League Soccer's new website, MLSsoccer.com, purposefully trying to downplay the low number of goals that are scored in the league or are they just incompetent? The answer is the latter. Or at least a technical snafu where the games aren't being updated with the final results. The above screenshot was taken just a […]

Zen And The Art Of Fast-Forwarding Through Soccer Games

We may not admit it to our friends, but we've all done it before. It seems sacrilegious to say it, especially on a soccer web site, but here goes: I fast forward soccer games. Gulp, there I said it. It's true. Let me add that I don't do it all the time. In fact, it's […]

West Ham 1-3 Wolves: Wanderers Hammer Zola

Despite what the headline in Tuesday night's Daily Telegraph says (see above picture), the scoreline in the West Ham United against Wolverhampton Wanderers was 3-1 to Wolves, not 3-0. But it may as well been 3-0 such was the way that Wolves annihilated Gianfranco Zola's West Ham United with three clinical goals that were top […]
