Tottenham winger Andros Townsend scored on his England debut tonight in the 4-1 win against Montenegro, which edges England one step closer to qualification for FIFA World Cup 2014.

With England fans sitting on the edge of their seat when Montenegro pulled a goal back to make it 2-1 to England, Townsend soon after put the game to bed by scoring a long-range shot that swerved, hit the post and went into the back of the net.

Daniel Sturridge made sure of all three points with an injury time penalty kick goal. The other goalscorers for England tonight were Wayne Rooney and an own goal by Montenegro’s Branko Boskovic.

England broke away 2 on 1 in the 87th minute, just as Rooney was playing Sturridge in, “Team Jerseys, England white, Montengro Red” covered the bottom of the screen.
Great timing guys, and in the 87th minute I think we’d all figured it out who was who.
