<p>The first edition of the Women’s Super League stickers on Panini sold out fast with fans actively seeking the collection. The incredible response to the collection has led to stores and the Panini website selling out of the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/womens-super-league-tv-schedule/">Women’s Super League</a> packages. Argos, WH Smiths, Toys R Us, Smyths Toys, and the Panini website listed the product as sold-out. </p>



<p>The stickers first became available in December with fans having the option to purchase them both in-person and online. Both of those sold out, and now Panini is prioritizing the selling of the product in person. There is not necessarily a shortage of stickers, according to Panini. Instead, the company wants to put stickers on shelves so it can allow shoppers to see them in person.</p>



<p>The Italian company released a statement explaining its decision to put stickers back in stores.</p>



<p>“We have prioritised bricks and mortar retailers to make the product accessible immediately for collectors,” <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/68029325.amp" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Panini said</a>. “It’s been an incredible response and we’re delighted to have been able to bring this level of excitement and engagement to the first ever Women’s Super League Sticker Collection.”</p>



<p>According to BBC, Panini did not announce how many stickers or packs of stickers sold since their release last month. The only thing Panini would say is that it has sold millions of packs.</p>

<h2>Panini Women’s Super League stickers feature the best from the league</h2>



<p>Each of the packs Panini is selling has players from clubs in the Women’s Super League. Additionally, there are iconic players from the Women’s Super League and the rest of the sport. Panini is making a push to be more involved in the women’s game. These Women’s Super League stickers from Panini are the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/womens-super-league-has-first-ever-panini-sticker-collection-20231122-WST-472257.html">first to feature the top women’s division</a> in England. Also, Panini sold sticker packets and books for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.</p>



<p>The Panini sticker collection books started in the 2011 Women’s World Cup in Germany. The growth in stickers and packets coincides with the rapid development of the Women’s Super League. The English Football Association reported a 170% increase in attendance across the Women’s Super League. Clubs have even put games in the stadiums traditionally reserved for the men’s side. Arsenal put five games at the Emirates Stadium for the 2023/24 campaign.</p>



<h2>Comparing the Women’s Super League to the Premier League</h2>



<p>Those were successful, and the recent addition of the Panini packs for the Women’s Super League has been equally successful. However, it still fails to compare to the sticker packages regarding the Premier League. Panini’s sticker packs date back to 1970, but the Premier League remains one of its biggest selling points. </p>



<p>“The Premier League sticker collection has built its following over several years so is not comparable,” it added.</p>



<p>However, if women’s soccer can continue to grow, there is a possibility the Panini packs for the Women’s Super League can rival the sales of packages in the men’s game in the future. However, that will take time for women’s soccer to continue to grow in popularity as a whole.</p>

Panini sells out Women's Super League stickers on website

The first edition of the Women's Super League stickers on Panini sold out fast with fans actively seeking the collection.

<p>The English Football Association announced this week that the Women’s Super League will debut a batch of Panini stickers.</p>



<p>Worldwide, soccer enthusiasts of all ages have treasured their sticker collections. They are well-known for their trading cards and other collectibles. They have never put out a collection that is dedicated only to women’s domestic soccer.</p>



<p>Thus up until today, Panini has just covered women’s international competitions. What this means is that the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/womens-super-league-tv-schedule/">Women’s Super League (WSL)</a> is making a grand entrance. A fresh set of about 350 stickers, including the much-desired shiny ones, will be available. Panini signed a licensing agreement with the English FA.</p>



<p>An album and five sticker packs will be available as a beginning package for collectors. Included in the upcoming WSL sticker album are 12 <em>shinies</em>. These are unique foil stickers representing each of the 12 teams, along with images of league emblems and players.</p>

<h2>WSL only grows in popularity</h2>



<p>With a history of sticker album production dating back to 1970, Panini made its debut with a 2011 World Cup women’s football collection. Debuting last year, they catered to the women’s domestic football market in Spain’s premier division, Liga F.</p>



<p>Panini has announced that the physical Barclays WSL sticker collection will be available for purchase beginning in December. This follows the popularity of previous collections that have celebrated international women’s soccer competitions.</p>



<p>In the wake of <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/uefa-european-championship-tv-schedule/">Euro 2022</a>, the Lionesses’ performance at the 2023 <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/womens-world-cup-tv-schedule/">World Cup</a> marked another turning point. Attendance in the Women’s Super League increased by 170 percent from 2022–23 compared to the previous year. That made the Women’s Super League the most-attended league.</p>



<p>Since it resumed in October, attendance has been setting new records, and experts expect this trend to keep going. This achievement occurs at the same time the Barclays WSL has the most female professional players participating in the FIFA Women’s World Cup this summer.</p>

With the soccer tournament is just two months away, scarcity of the stickers could not come at a worse time.</p>
<p><a href="https://worldsoccertalk.cms.futbolsitesnetwork.com/2021/07/16/orbis-world-cup-1990-the-greatest-soccer-sticker-album-of-all-time-video/">Collecting World Cup stickers</a> is a longstanding tradition. <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.cms.futbolsitesnetwork.com/2021/06/04/collecting-paninis-euro-2020-stickers-is-a-perfect-accompaniment-to-watching-the-tournament/">Panini</a>, the manufacturer of these stickers, launched in the early 1960s. Within the first year, the company sold millions of sticker packs. The Italian company initially began producing World Cup stickers for the 1970 tournament in Mexico.</p>
<p>More recently, Panini was making around eight to 10 million packs of stickers per day ahead of the 2018 World Cup. Now, the company claims that <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.cms.futbolsitesnetwork.com/2021/05/30/what-makes-soccer-trading-cards-valuable-and-why-and-how-to-get-them-graded/">demand for these items increased</a> by 40% compared to the previous tournament.</p>
<h3>Argentina World Cup sticker shortage</h3>
<p>Argentine publication <a href="https://www.lanacion.com.ar/sociedad/panini-creo-un-monstruo-el-furor-que-causan-las-figuritas-del-mundial-de-futbol-en-paises-de-america-nid07092022/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">La Nacion</a> reports that Panini can’t handle the massive request. This incredible pressure on the Italian company far exceeds their capabilities in production. Despite this, kiosk unions, the people that sell these stickers in Argentina, demand Panini to provide enough of the product.</p>
<p>The report also suggests that completing an entire sticker album would cost about $923. These kiosk stands typically sell packs of stickers for cheaper than online retailers. At the stands, packs usually go for about $1 each, while companies on websites sell larger 10-packs for a higher price.</p>

<p>Argentina’s government is intervening as somewhat of a mediator between manufacturer and stores. Their trade department announced the move on their official Twitter account. “We have opened a dialogue and engaged our legal and technical staffers to collaborate so we can find solutions,” read the statement.</p>
<p>For the time being, collectors are left disappointed. “It’s frustrating not being able to find any,” <a href="https://en.as.com/soccer/world-cup-fever-builds-in-argentina-as-stores-sell-out-of-panini-stickers-n/?omnil=resrelrecom" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> father of three Exequiel Claverie. “I arrive home every day to (my children) saying: ‘Hey dad, did you buy stickers?’ There are none!”</p>
