
<p>Playmaker, the digital sports media company specializing in the North, Central and South America, is one of the most visited groups of sites in the Americas. Recent data released by Comscore places Playmaker at seventh in the top sports media companies in the Americas based on multi-platform total visits in December 2022.</p>



<p>That month, of course, featured the culmination of the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/tv/2022-world-cup-final-viewership-watched-by-26-million-20221220-WST-412917.html">2022 World Cup</a>. That was <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/tv/americans-watched-more-world-cup-than-march-madness-20221222-WST-413170.html">a busy time</a> for a number of <a href="https://www.playmaker.fans/brands/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Playmaker’s properties</a>, many of which focus on soccer. Playmaker’s media includes fan- and reader-centric websites such as <a href="https://www.bolavip.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bolavip</a> and Yardbarker. </p>



<p>Full disclosure, Playmaker is also the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/2022/07/05/world-soccer-talk-acquired-by-playmaker/">parent company of World Soccer Talk</a> since July 2022.</p>



<p>The combination of websites, podcasts and other forms of media enabled Playmaker to achieve dominance in Latin America and strong standings in the United States and Canada. More remarkably, Playmaker accomplished this in its first year of full operation. </p>



<p>In Latin America, Playmaker is the top media sports group based on audience. In the United States, Playmaker jumped from 23rd most popular company to 18th. Then, in Canada, where Playmaker is headquartered, Playmaker rose from 15th to 12th. Both of those rise in rank are compared to 2021 over the same time period. </p>



<h2>Playmaker popularity surges in the media groups of Americas</h2>



<p>Combined, Playmaker is among household names of the sports media world. The likes of ESPN, Yahoo, Sports Illustrated and CBS Sports are in the same conversation as playmaker based on total visits in December 2022.</p>

<p>Note that this data is for December of 2022. Plus, it combines the data from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and the United States. This is both mobile and desktop visits, too. </p>



<p>While Latin America does drive those numbers up, the widespread growth is even better.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, World Soccer Talk <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/amp/tv/most-popular-soccer-websites-in-usa-during-world-cup-2022-20230116-WST-415489.html">climbed to number five</a> of the most-popular soccer websites in the United States. The website was only beaten out by FIFA.com, USsoccer.com, Goal.com and MLS’ website.</p>


Recent data released by Comscore put Playmaker, the parent company of World Soccer Talk, among popular sports media groups in the Americas.

<p>NBC Sports have broken the all-time Premier League viewership record in the United States. Sunday’s game between Arsenal and Manchester United averaged 2.3 million viewers across NBC, Telemundo and <a href="https://imp.i305175.net/c/330866/1313913/11640" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Peacock Premium</a>.</p>



<p>The thrilling game between Arsenal and Manchester United ended 3-2 to the Gunners after a late goal sealed the win in an end-to-end match. Televised from 11:30AM to 1:30PM ET, the viewership numbers were helped by the game being shown live via the over-the-air NBC network on a Sunday, which is uncommon.</p>



<p>For NBCUniversal, it was the perfect storm.</p>



<h2>Premier League TV record broken in United States</h2>



<p>Looking closer at the numbers, 1.92 million watched the game in English-language across NBC and Peacock combined. Meanwhile, 382,000 viewers watched the live in Spanish via Telemundo. Together, the viewing total equals 2,302,000 people.</p>



<p>For Peacock specifically, NBC Sports set a record for a simulstreamed Premier League match, with an average minute audience (AMA) of 510,000 viewers for the match.</p>

<p>Given the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/supporters-groups/">popularity of Arsenal and Manchester United</a> among American soccer fans, the number shouldn’t come as a surprise. Both teams are benefitting from a resurgence on the field, which certainly helped the viewing number.</p>



<p>Arsenal-Manchester United smashed the previous Premier League TV record, which was for a 2022 Manchester derby that <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/man-united-man-city-breaks-record-for-most-watched-premier-league-game-ever-on-us-tv-20200311-CMS-297714.html">averaged 1.76 million viewers</a>. Sunday’s Arsenal-Man United match was far greater than previous Premier League TV <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/top-10-watched-premier-league-games-us-tv-history-20180410-CMS-237697.html">record viewerships</a> too.</p>



<p>Overall, across the four television match windows last weekend Friday through Sunday, NBC Sports averaged a total audience delivery of 947,000 viewers. To date, it’s the largest average audience for a <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/PLMorningsLiveOrlando" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Premier League Fan Fest</a>. Orlando was the eighth Fan Fest to be presented by NBC Sports and the Premier League, and the second this season, following the Philadelphia fan fest in October.</p>



<p>Orlando’s Premier League Fan Fest was held at Universal CityWalk outside Universal Studios. </p>


NBC Sports, Arsenal and Manchester United have set a new Premier League TV record for the most-watched game in US history.
