
<p>Folarin Balogun has been named in the latest <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/usmnt-tv-schedule/">USMNT</a> 24-man roster ahead of the Concacaf Nations League Finals. The squad starts reporting to Los Angeles as early as Sunday, June 4. Newly appointed interim <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/usmnt-names-bj-callaghan-head-coach-as-hudson-moves-on-20230530-WST-435280.html">head coach B.J. Callaghan</a> must then trim one player from the squad to submit his 23-player squad to CONCACAF by June 5.</p>



<p>The 21-year-old Balogun only recently <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/folarin-balogun-switches-allegiance-from-england-to-usa-20230516-WST-433037.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">switched his allegiance</a> from England to the United States. He is currently having a breakout season on loan with French club Stade Reims. Balogun has racked up 20 <a href="https://www.worldsoccertalk.com/ligue-un-tv-schedule" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ligue 1</a> goals in 36 total appearances in the top flight. Reims, and the starlet, will finish its 2022/23 campaign with a home match against Montpellier on Saturday. Then, Balogun is free to travel back to the States ahead of the national team’s training camp.</p>



<h5>Sought-after striker might leave Arsenal this summer</h5>



<p>Despite his stellar season in France, Balogun may be switching clubs this summer. The striker is currently under contract at Premier League side <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/arsenal-tv-schedule/">Arsenal</a>. However, he is reportedly now considering a permanent switch away from north London. Balogun just signed a three-year contract with the club last year. There will almost certainly be talks between Arsenal and the player this summer about his future with the team.</p>

<h2>USMNT Nations League roster shapes up for Mexico clash</h2>



<p>Nevertheless, Balogun looks ready to make his debut for the USMNT in the Nations League Final Four. The Yanks are set to first play bitter rivals <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/mexico-national-team-tv-schedule/">Mexico</a> in the competition on June 15th. The winner of the match will then advance to the Nations League final three days later. Canada and Panama face off in the other semifinal matchup.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/nations/mexico-national-team-tv-schedule/">Mexico </a>squad for the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/category/world-cup-2022/">2022 World Cup</a> represents the country’s eighth-consecutive appearance at the tournament. Overall, it is Mexico’s 17th time featuring at the World Cup.</p>



<p>This year, it hopes to break the curse of the round of 16. From 1994 until now, Mexico got out of the group. However, in that <a href="https://remezcla.com/features/sports/mexicos-world-cup-curse-round-of-16/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">first knockout stage game, Mexico fell</a>, often in dramatic ways. In two of those, 2006 and 2010, Mexico fell at the hands of Argentina. This year, the Mexico World Cup squad has a chance for redemption facing <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/nations/argentina-national-team-tv-schedule/">Argentina </a>in the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/2022/04/04/analysis-of-world-cup-groups/">group stage</a>.</p>



<p>Gerardo Martino selected a mix of players that play in Europe and North America. The vast majority of these players represent Mexican clubs. For example, there are  five players from Monterrey, and a further three players from Club América. In total, 16 players ply their club trade in Mexico.</p>



<h5>Notable names</h5>



<p>The key players for Mexico come from across the world, however. Out of Mexico, Guillermo Ochoa is the starting goalkeeper. He is consistently one of the top performers at the World Cup, dating back to a sensational performance in 2014 in Brazil. Also, Héctor Moreno, one of the Monterrey boys, has a plethora of experience with 126 caps, including three World Cups already.</p>



<p>Only Andrés Guardado from Real Betis has more caps in this squad for outfield players. The midfielder has an astounding 177 caps, and he is the captain of this side.</p>

<p>Yet, the players that can make a difference certainly center around Hirving Lozano and Raúl Jiménez. Lozano is a world-class talent playing for Napoli. On the other hand, Jiménez recovered from his scary head injury a couple years ago to further play for Wolves. Despite dips in club form, he presents a serious threat up top.</p>



<h2>Mexico World Cup squad</h2>



<p>The full Mexico World Cup squad begins its World Cup adventure on <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/world-cup-tv-schedule/">Tuesday, Nov. 22</a>, against Robert Lewandowski and <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/nations/poland-national-team-tv-schedule/">Poland</a>.</p>
