
<p>Manchester United will be playing preseason matches in the United States this summer. The <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/teams/manchester-united-tv-schedule/">Red Devils</a> announced the American tour on Wednesday, but would not reveal potential opposition. </p>



<p>However, the team’s official <a href="https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/manchester-united-destination-for-summer-tour-2023-revealed" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">statement</a> on the news claimed that United will play a “series of games” throughout “various cities” Stateside. It will be the first time since 2018 that United will play in the United States.</p>



<h2>United excited to get back to US with tour</h2>



<p>The club’s managing director, John Murtough, claimed United is thrilled to announced the US tour. </p>

<p>“This will be our first visit to the US for five years, and everyone at the club is looking forward to it, especially the players, who love the high-quality facilities, the welcoming atmosphere and passionate support of our large US fanbase,” <a href="https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/manchester-united-destination-for-summer-tour-2023-revealed" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">stated</a> Murtough.</p>



<p>“Tour 2023 will not only see the return of our senior players to training and playing, but there will also be valuable opportunities for up-and-coming talent from our Academy to experience life within the first-team environment, and for our US fans to see some potential stars of the future.”</p>



<p>“We know that Manchester United and the Premier League in general are growing in popularity across the US, so we are looking forward to building on this connection this summer.”</p>



<h5>Recent reports suggest United will face Wrexham</h5>



<p>While United wait to reveal potential opposition for the American tour, there have been reports that they will play Wrexham. <em><a href="https://www.espn.com/soccer/manchester-united-engman_utd/story/4886497/man-united-set-to-face-wrexham-on-preseason-tour-of-us-sources" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ESPN</a></em> previously reported that the two clubs face off in San Diego in July. The news outlet claimed that Las Vegas will be a potential host city for the Red Devils as well.</p>



<p>Wrexham previously <a href="https://www.wrexhamafc.co.uk/news/2023/february/wrexham-afc-to-compete-in-usa-in-$1m-winner-takes-all-tournament/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">announced</a> that they will participate in a unique tournament in the US this summer. The 7v7 competition is taking place in North Carolina this June. Winners of the tournament will win a $1 million prize.</p>

<p>Team co-owner Rob McElhenney also revealed a possibly separate US tour as well. The actor claimed back in December that his club will face MLS opposition. “Next year we’re going to do a tour around some of the MLS teams, so that’ll be fun,” McElhenney <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/wrexham-to-play-mls-teams-in-summer-2023-tour-20221218-WST-412630.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">stated</a> on The Town with Matthew Belloni podcast.</p>
