Fans attending the game at FedEx Field will have the chance to watch the USMNT start a busy summer. As stated, the United States plays Colombia once the European club calendar closes. That tournament is across the United States, Canada and Mexico, so the entire load is not on one country.



In the summer before that, FIFA is launching its new Club World Cup format with 32 clubs from across the globe. The best teams from Europe, South America and the rest of the confederations in the FIFA umbrella will play a new-look tournament across the east coast of the United States. Also, in the summer of 2024, many clubs have planned friendlies in the United States, including a <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/arsenal-liverpool-and-united-to-play-summer-friendlies-in-usa-20240129-WST-486203.html">trio of Premier League clubs</a>. 



In addition to playing Colombia outside of Washington, D.C., on June 8, a <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/usa-finalizing-summer-friendlies-against-brazil-and-colombia-20240209-WST-488736.html">friendly between the USMNT and Brazil</a> is reportedly happening on June 12.

Fans can now purchase tickets for the friendly between the USA and Colombia when the two play at FedEx Field in Landover, MD.

The Premier League has announced a major summer tour involving six clubs across five cities. In total, there will be nine matches between Premier League teams in the United States in 2023 as part of this summer tour. Note that this does not include <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/arsenal-traveling-to-usa-to-play-in-2023-mls-all-star-game-20230320-WST-423810.html">Arsenal</a> or <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/man-united-and-dortmund-tickets-on-sale-for-las-vegas-friendly-20230404-WST-426731.html">Manchester United</a>, who both have individual <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/schedule-of-soccer-friendlies-in-us-this-summer/">summer friendlies planned in the United States</a> this year.



The six clubs making the collective trip across the pond are Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton, Chelsea, Fulham and Newcastle. Each team is playing three games in the United States as part of this summer series across five venues. Games are in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Orlando, Harrison and Landover. The latter two are just outside of New York and Washington, DC, respectively. 



This is the first time the Premier League is making a collective league effort to play a preseason tournament in the United States. In the past, teams traveled individually, but still played Premier League teams often. For example, the Florida Cup last year pit <a href="https://twitter.com/worldsoccertalk/status/1551018557487603712?lang=en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Arsenal against Chelsea</a>.

These games take place over a nine-day span from Saturday, July 22 to Sunday, July 30. The action starts in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field, with a total of three games over that weekend. Chelsea plays against Brighton on Saturday before Fulham plays Brentford and Newcastle takes on Aston Villa. 



Then, on Wednesday July 26, there are three games. Two are in Atlanta, which are Brentford-Brighton and Chelsea vs Newcastle. The third game is in Orlando as Fulham faces Aston Villa. 



The last set of games start Friday, July 28 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ. Brighton and Newcastle conclude their USA ventures at the home of the New York Red Bulls. Then, on Sunday, July 30, there are two games at FedEx field in Landover, MD. Aston Villa battles Brentford before London clubs Chelsea and Fulham play.

In addition to announcing the schedule, the Premier League also clarified that NBC is in charge of broadcasting the games. NBCUniversal’s family of channels, including USA Network as well as <a href="https://imp.i305175.net/c/330866/1313913/11640" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Peacock</a>, have coverage of games throughout the preseason tournament.
