NBC wraps up its batch of festive fixtures after welcoming in 2022 this weekend.
Kicking off the new year, we first say <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.cms.futbolsitesnetwork.com/2021/11/02/premier-league-games-move-to-usa-after-nbcsn-shuts-down-dec-31/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">goodbye to NBCSN</a>. NBC will make USA Network the home of its Premier League coverage, with a number of games still featuring on Peacock.
That means we have another weekend of fixtures to get excited for after any New Year’s Eve and Day festivities.
As usual, NBC’s slate of studio shows gets fans in the right mindset before settling in to watch soccer. Premier League Mornings, Premier League Live and Goal Zone are all on USA Network, a notable change with NBCSN closing upon the new year. Tim Howard and Robbie Mustoe join Rebecca Lowe behind the desk. Then, on Monday, Mustoe sticks around as Paul Burmeister and Danny Higginbotham step in.
On Saturday, a massively important game gets the actual fixtures started as Arsenal hosts Manchester City. Earlier in the year, Pep Guardiola’s side dominated the Gunners, 5-0. Frankly, that was a different Arsenal. Now, the Gunners sit in a <a href="https:\/\/www.premierleague.com/tables" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Champions League spot</a> just passed the halfway point in the season.
Other notable games on Saturday include Watford hosting Tottenham and West Ham battling fellow-London club Crystal Palace.
Sunday features a jam-packed 9 a.m. window with four games. However, all eyes are on the ‘late’ game on Sunday. Chelsea hosts Liverpool in a game with massive consequences for both sides. Liverpool slipped up at Leicester, forcing them to look up at Manchester City, which leads the table. Chelsea’s recent struggles rocked them out of the title race, at least for now. A win for Thomas Tuchel’s squad puts them back in the mix, but a loss would be catastrophic at home.
Action concludes on Monday with Manchester United hosting Wolves, both sides eyeing European spots.
<h3>EPL Commentators on NBC, USA Network and Peacock</h3>
Keep in mind that the COVID-19 pandemic could cancel a number of these games. After all, one game this weekend already saw a postponement. The game between Leicester City and Norwich, scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, got postponed on Thursday.
