International Football Has Lost Its Appeal

The qualifying matches for Euro 2008 will continue this weekend. For many of us – whether we're European or not – it doesn't conjure up much excitement, but why? Growing up as a kid in Britain in the 70's and early 80's, I was accustomed to placing international teams as the pinnacle of the sport. […]

The Story Behind The EPL Acronym

When is the Premiership referred to as the English Premier League (or the acronym EPL)? The answer is when it's typically referenced by people outside the UK. Premiership Refs Made Critical Errors

Unfortunately this was not a good weekend for referees in the Premiership. In the Bolton against Liverpool match, the free kick that led to Bolton's first goal should never have counted when Jose Pepe Reina came nowhere close to handling the ball outside of the penalty area while he was booting it upfield. How the […]

Later this was evident on the field at Stamford Bridge. I’m not sure […]

Man United Take Control of Group F

A good win for Manchester United tonight in a match that was always going to be difficult against Benfica. It wasn't the most beautiful thing to watch, and there were moments where I was reminded why Portugal was despised so much during the World Cup. In this one, Benfica's diving and overacting was extremely disappointing. […]
