Joe Hart's triple save Monday night for Manchester City against Liverpool as well as his heroic saves for City against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the season have been the difference for City thus far this season. How an American Influence Is Rubbing Off On Manchester City

Manchester City's match day experience is becoming more and more American with each new season. While Maine Road was what you could expect a typical British experience of what it was like to see an English football match in the 80s, the City of Manchester Stadium experience seems as American as apple pie. In previous […]

Premier League, Gameweek Two: No Need To Press The Panic Buttons Yet

You can't criticize the Premier League for one thing, and that's a lack of goals. The opening two weekends of the 2010-11 Premier League season have seen a cascade of goals flying into the back of the net. And it hasn't just been Chelsea and Arsenal getting in on the act. Even Blackpool and Newcastle […]

When Chelsea Were Top Of The Hooligan League Table, Not Premier League

Chelsea weren't always the glamor club that they are today. In the late 70s and early 80s, they were the scourge of English football thanks to their hooligans who terrorized trains, city centres and stadiums around the country. They weren't the only troublemakers, but they were often the most feared. Searching through YouTube, I found […]

Sometimes I'm proud to be British. But other times, I'm ashamed. After watching a documentary series on YouTube entitled "Hooligans Untold Story," an investigative look inside the world of England football hooligans by the renowned team from BBC's Panorama, I was very ashamed especially since the footage was only a few years ago, from 2006. […]

Roy Hodgson is a saint. Well, not exactly, but if you wanted to get a good indication of what type of person he is and how much patience he has, watch the above video of yesterday's Liverpool press conference after Liverpool's 1-0 win over Trabzonspor. Memories of Leeds United Away Games in the 70s, 80s and 90s

After reading Jesse Chula's article about how many Premier League matches will you watch this weekend, it made me contemplate how different the TV and Internet viewing experience is to going to a game in England. More specifically, going to an away game. I've been to plenty of top-flight games in England and Wales, but […]

Harry Redknapp and Tottenham Hotspur: The Masters Of Suspense

When I think of Harry Redknapp, he constantly reminds me of Sir Alfred Hitchcock, Britain's best-ever film director. The two men hail from the East End of London. Both men had close ties with West Ham United. Hitchcock having supported them and Redknapp having played and managed them. Both men liked to spend the money of […]
