Ljungberg to Seattle an Embarrasing Move

I'll admit that I saw this coming but that does not make it in any way more justifiable. Major League Soccer has its newest Designated Player, and like some of the post Beckham/Blanco signings it is a player no major club in the world would even entertain a thought of signing. Freddie Ljungberg is a […]

MLS Owes Beckham AC Milan Move

Much has been written the past week about David Beckham's potential move to AC Milan. My thinking is simple on the issue. MLS owes it to Beckham to allow him to move back to Europe, either on loan, or if he so desires permanently. Beckham has put his international career at great risk to promote […]

Sunday MLS Thoughts: Oct. 2008

I’ve been busy between professional obligations (I make my living consulting on political and issue campaigns, so obviously this has been a busy time) and some personal issues (nothing serious but time consuming nonetheless) so I apologize for not posting here the last few days. Tonight’s match between Columbus and DC United was the best […]

Can MLS Survive the Increased Interest in English Football?

Fox Soccer Channel has become a Nielsen rated network for the first time this month. Is Canada's Club Football Brighter than in the US?

While the Canadian National Team has been eliminated from securing its first World Cup qualification since 1986, this has been an otherwise banner year in Canadian Soccer. Toronto FC has been a few terrible (and dare I say blatant) officials calls away from making the MLS playoffs as a second year franchise. The Thunder Bay […]

Matchnight: Trinidad & Tobago 2 US 1

Final Thoughts: Despite the loss a very good run out and effort from the US kids who were facing an experienced and desperate Soca Warrior side. What Bob Bradley must learn however was on display in Edmonton tonight. If you attack against Mexico instead of holding back and relying on the counters and set pieces […]
