Poll Results

We only had 23 votes in our poll of the week due possibly to technical problem. Those who voted were equally split on Juan Toja and Guilermo Barros Schelotto being the biggest impact newcomer to the league who was not a Beckham Rule player. I should have pointed out beforehand that I did not include […]

Young Americans Humbled

After dominating the first half hour of play John Hackworth's US squad has been shocked in the U-17 World Cup by Tajikistan who has qualified for the first time for any FIFA event. The 4-3 Tajik win over a nation that has qualified for every single U-17 World Cup speaks volumes about the progress US […]

The Revolution is Being Televised (Though It May Miss the Newspaper)

To the average viewer of "scream" shows about American sports such as Around the Horn, Rome is Burning and The Best Damn Sports Show Period, the ongoing revolution in American sports preferences may have flown under the radar. That's because so many of the sports writers that feature on the shout shows like Jay Marrioti, […]

David Beckham gave the Big Apple what American soccer and MLS badly need in the nation's largest media market: an entertaining show. In front of […]

Media reports indicate as many as 60,000 fans could pack Giants Stadium for tonight's clash between the Red Bulls and the David Beckham led LA Galaxy. US Tactics for Sweden Friendly

This European heavy squad is interesting for its balance of regulars for 2007, returning players seeing their first call up since Germany 2006 (like Josh Wolff and Marcus Hannehman) and youngsters (like Sal Zizzo, Kamani Hill, and Charlie Davies.) Landon Donovan may want to decline the invitation to play since the Galaxy who apparently are […]

Polls and New Look

I have been told by several readers that the poll regarding the best Foreign signing in MLS this year who is not a Beckham rule player is often times not working in IE 7.0. If you have Firefox, it works fine, but if you are running IE, I apologize and will notify Blogger as to […]

Derby County's fascination with American footballers continues. Just hours after receiving official clearance to play Benny Feilhaber and weeks after trying to sign Eddie Johnson, Eddie Lewis is reportedly headed to Pride Park. Derby sits near the bottom of the Premiership table with 1 point but has shown flashes of real class in its first […]
