The performances leave plenty for fans to be worried about (the women’s national team finished last at the She Believes Cup and only managed second at the Tournament of Nations). Ticket details for US Women’s National Team summer tournament against Brazil, Japan and Australia

Tickets will go on sale soon for this summer’s Tournament of Nations competition featuring the women’s teams of the United States, Brazil, Japan and Australia. The round-robin tournament will feature three doubleheaders that will celebrate some of the world’s premier women’s soccer players, many of whom compete in the National Women’s Soccer League. Washington (AFP) – Camille Abily scored twice as France stunned world champions the United States 3-0 to win the She Believes Cup four-nation tournament. Needing only a draw to win the round-robin competition, France got off to a dream start when Abily stroked her first goal home from the penalty spot at RFK Stadium after only eight minutes. Rapinoe to respect new US anthem rules

Los Angeles (AFP) – United States women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe said Monday she will abide by a new policy which orders players to stand during the playing of the US national anthem. Rapinoe, 31, has kneeled during pre-match renditions of “The Star Spangled Banner” in recent months in a gesture of solidarity to San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. New York (AFP) – Ellen White’s 89th-minute strike lifted England to a 1-0 victory over the United States on Saturday in the SheBelieves Cup at Harrison, New Jersey. In front of a sell-out crowd of 25,000 at Red Bull Arena, England’s well-orchestrated defense frustrated the reigning Women’s World Cup champions before White slotted home from close-range at the death. US Soccer requires players to stand for anthem – reports

Chicago (AFP) – US Soccer unveiled a new policy Saturday requiring players to stand during the national anthems during international matches — six months after Megan Rapinoe kneeled before a women’s friendly against Thailand. The policy, reported by Fox Spors and ESPN, was approved last month by US Soccer’s board of directors and revealed at the US Soccer Federation annual general meeting in Hawaii. “All persons representing a federation national team shall stand respectfully during the playing of national anthems at any event in which the federation is represented,” the policy reads.
