In the 93rd minute of the friendly between Mexico and Portugal, Portuguese star Bruno Alves came through with a brilliant header to win the match 1-0 for Portugal against Mexico ahead of the World Cup.
The game, which was played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough Massachusetts, seemed destination for a 0-0 result until Alves headed the ball into the corner of the net. For Portugal, who were missing Cristiano Ronaldo after the player was rested, the win will give them the confidence going into the group with Germany, Ghana and the United States. For Mexico, it was another rather uninspiring performance and the lack of goals still remains an issue for Mexico coach Miguel Herrera.
