The Fantasy Premier League season for the 2023/24 campaign is now available. That means Premier League fans out there can sit back and create their own dream teams within a fictional $100 million budget. 



You can pick any Premier League player, including those that may arrive during the season, to create an elite XI. Then, that team’s in-game results earn a score each game. With 38 gameweeks, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season stretches across the campaign. You can mix and match players, sometimes at a cost, based on their form or just how much you enjoy them.



Even if you are not a super-fan of the Premier League, FPL is a great way to get more involved. Sure, you may have one or two teams that you like to follow. However, this will give casual fans the chance to get more involved with the league. Not the biggest fan of Crystal Palace? Well, if you had Eberechi Eze on your Fantasy Premier League team a season ago, he ranked <a href="https://fantasy.premierleague.com/statistics" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">16th overall</a> in total points. FPL allows fans to get creative to maximize their points.

Fantasy Premier League is launching its Second Chance League during matchweek 17. Those games, which are on Boxing Day (December 26), mean any player has new life in their FPL campaign.



Also, it is <a href="https:\/\/www.premierleague.com/news/2978285" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">a fitting addition</a> given the massive hiatus in the middle of the season. The World Cup break took away some of the momentum of club soccer. However, the FPL Second Chance League allows soccer fans to get more involved with the game. Plus, you do not have to be a previous player of <a href="https:\/\/fantasy.premierleague.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fantasy Premier League</a>. 



All users, regardless of whether or not they had a team in the first stint of the season, will have a totally new league. Players start from zero, just like we did <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/2022/07/05/fantasy-premier-league-is-live-join-our-private-league-for-2022-23/">back in August at the start</a> of the Premier League season. Then, you select a team given your funding, and you hope they get you points via real life performances. 



Those that are committed to their current league, there is no need to fret. Those points remain in play, as do mini-leagues with friends, family, co-workers or like-minded people. This is just a way to be more involved with the league, while also bringing in a number of new players and users. 



<h2>FPL announces Second Chance League</h2>



There are slight differences with the addition of the Second Chance League. There is no cup competition. Also, of course, the league is considerably shorter in duration, as we have already seen 16 matchweeks. 



Finally, there is a new award that does not exist in the main FPL. The scorer with the highest point in a matchweek without using a token such as triple captain gets a prize. 



However, the same goal exists. At the end of the season FPL gives the top five teams prizes, with things ranging from hospitality tickets with travel expenses paid for to games consoles. 



The Second Chance League launches on Boxing Day, the same day that the general season for FPL returns to action.

Join the Fantasy Premier League for 2010-11 Season

<div><figure class="image"></figure></div>When I sat down in August 2009 to predict what the final table for the 2009-10 Premier League would look like, little did I know what a disastrous season lay ahead for Liverpool. At the time, many pundits were predicting that Chelsea would finish in top place. And I was one of them especially after how rejuvenated they looked on their Summer 2009 tour.
For the most part, I did pretty well with <a href="http:\/\/epltalk.com/2009-2010-premier-league-table-predictions/9936" target="_self">my predictions</a> (see right). If you take Liverpool out of the equation, the top seven spots were close to how they ended. I was surprised that Everton didn’t do as well as in previous seasons but they were hampered by injuries.
While I was hopeful that Manchester City would give the Premier League Big Four a run for their money, I had a strong suspicion that they wouldn’t be able to do as well as many City supporters had hoped.

Near the bottom of the table, I got 2 of the 3 predictions correct of who would get relegated. Even until a couple of months ago I was convinced Wolves would go down, but full credit to Mick McCarthy for keeping the Wanderers up for another season.
Other clubs that surprised me during the 2009-10 season were how well Birmingham City and Stoke City did as well as how poor Wigan and West Ham performed. As a Swansea City supporter, I probably gave Roberto Martinez more credit than he deserved for his first season in the Premier League.
In addition to my predictions, I also asked you — the readers of EPL Talk — to submit your educated guesses of who would end up in positions one through 20. As is often the case, some readers posted their entries as late as April, which is quite unfair. So looking at those who posted theirs in the comments section in August, the most apparent thing to me is how many people predicted Liverpool would win the title or finish in second place. Their seventh place finish must have come at quite a shock for many people, myself included.
In addition to the predictions of who would finish where in the table, EPL Talk held the Fantasy Premier League for the 2009-10 season. Here are the results:

First, the good news is that the EPLTalk.com Fantasy Premier League team finished in 10th place worldwide out of 193,262 private leagues.
