Juventus emerging as title contenders

Juventus suffered last season following one of the worst campaigns in their glorious history. There were multiple reasons behind their collapse such as instability due to coaching changes, a number of injuries to key players, the management’s bad decisions in the transfer market and the age factor catching up with […]

Wayne Rooney Belongs At Inter Milan

The soccer press has been buzzing about the latest Wayne Rooney press conferences, statements, and rumors.  The usual suspects have been named as possible destinations: the ATMs that are Manchester City and Real Madrid, EPL rival Chelsea, and Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich.  But where Wayne Rooney really belongs is in […]

AC Milan Channel will be on GolTV

AC Milan are on the rise, the rossoneri are aiming for the scudetto now that they have new stars like Ibrahimovic and Robinho. These two stars added to Ronaldinho and Pato provide an attacking group of players which seem very dangerous. Now you can follow AC Milan on GolTV, which […]

The Quiet Offseason of A.C. Milan

The rumors flying around the Internet recently have been focused on the makeup of the 2010-2011 Inter squad.  Will Balotelli move to Manchester or London (or Madrid)?  Will Maicon reunite with his former manager?  At some point I think every player on the roster has been rumored to move to […]

La Liga Jornada 38 Review: Barcelona Defends Their La Liga Crown

Once Lionel Messi scored his club record-tying 34th goal of the season in the 76th minute to increase the lead to 4-0, the 98,772 Culés at the Camp Nou, save for a few hundred Real Valladolid die-hards, began to chant the song that every team wants to hear at the […]

Inter Milan Completes The Italian Job on Barcelona in the Champions League

The sprinklers rose up from the pitch and sprayed the Inter Milan players and staff.  The Barcelona anthem, “Cant del Barça,” blared through the loudspeakers as the Culés did not know whether to clap off their Blaugrana heroes or vehemently whistle at the unwanted visitors from northern Italy.  This sense […]

Barcelona, We Meet Again

Since I’m new at EPL Talk, I’d like to talk a little bit more (before I discuss Wednesday’s match) about my history as an Arsenal fan. Slowly becoming a soccer fan in college, a 2006 trip to Europe with my girlfriend really cemented my love of the Gunners. Arriving in Paris just days before the Champions League Final, little did I know what would await me. The year before, I had been in Israel during the Liverpool-Milan game. Taking a cursory interest, I sat down with several Israelis who were screaming about how dominant Milan were. As everyone knows, it didn’t end up that way. But it was enough to turn me into a soccer fan for life.

La Liga in the Champions League: Sevilla Stumbles While Barcelona Bedazzles

With the advantage of the away goal, Sevilla looked in prime position to advance to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.  Unfortunately, Manolo Jiménez’s team played as though they were already in the next round.  A 0-0 score line would have sent Sevilla through, and even though Diego Perotti […]

La Liga Review: Has Barcelona Been Figured Out?

A ridiculous question with what should be a simple answer.  First, a cursory investigation.  Is Barcelona on top of the standings in La Liga?  Yes.  Has Barcelona obtained sixty-one points from twenty-four matches, one more point than it had at the same point last season?  Check.  Does Barcelona have the […]

What's Rising

Could This Be Tottenham’s Season?

They have one of the best managers in the league. They’ve been spectacular during pre-season after defeating Inter Milan, Celta Vigo, Bordeaux and Nice. And on paper, they have a remarkable team — one that reminds me of the skilful side they had in the early 1980s starring Argentines Osvaldo […]

Arsenal Are Interested in Taking Juventus Striker Mirko Vučinić On Loan For Rest of Season: Nightly Soccer Report

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic on loan for the remainder of the season. However, talks could break down as Juventus is only interested in a permanent signing, while the Gunners are insistent on a loan deal. Juventus rates Vucinic as a £8million player. Talks are […]

Analyzing Chelsea’s defensive cover to replace injured Kurt Zouma

Kurt Zouma suffered an unsettling injury during Chelsea’s Premier League match against Manchester United in last week’s fixture at Stamford Bridge.  His fall was so awkward and his pain so obvious that United’s Juan Mata immediately called for a stoppage of play, frantically signaling to the bench that his opponent needed treatment. Following the match, the […]
