FIFA Club World Cup TV schedule for viewers in the United States

The 2017 FIFA Club World Cup will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and features defending champions Real Madrid.

In the United States, Telemundo Deportes has the rights to the tournament. The matches will be shown across Telemundo and Universo (see schedule below).

Telemundo Deportes’ Andrés Cantor, Manuel Sol, Carlos Hermosillo, Copan Alvarez, Sammy Sadovnik and Miguel Gurwitz will lead the coverage for the tournament through the final match taking place Saturday, Dec. 16 at 11:30 a.m. ET / 8:30 a.m. PT. Select matches will feature a 30-min. pre show special.

This year’s tournament will take place in the United Arab Emirates, featuring the world’s top clubs in a seven matchup event. Already confirmed to participate is current UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid, CONCACAF Champions Pachuca, CAF Champions League winners Wydad Casablanca, OFC Champions League winners Auckland City and from the host country the Arabian Gulf League champions Al Jazira of the UAE. AFC Champions League winners Urawa Reds and Copa Libertadores winners Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense also qualified a will matchup against round 1 and 2 winners, respectively.

In the current format of the tournament, the host nation’s national champions dispute a play-off against the Oceania champions, from which the winner joins the champions of Asia, Africa and North America at the quarter-finals. The quarter-final winners go on to face the European and South American champions, who enter at the semi-final stage, for a place in the final.
