‘The Fix: Soccer And Organized Crime’ is This Month’s Book Club Selection, Join the Discussion!

You, the readers, have spoken. The book discussion selection for March is the very timely international bestseller entitled The Fix: Soccer And Organized Crime by author and investigative journalist Declan Hill.

In a recent article by Declan Hill in BBC Sport, the Canadian author says that “I do not mean that there is rampant fixing in British football. But I do mean that the British leagues have a very small window of opportunity to get themselves ready to fight off this new form of corruption.”

The timing of this month’s book selection is spot on since investigators recently revealed there were 680 matches worldwide were fixed including a Champions League match in England.

Here’s how EPL Talk’s monthly book discussion group works: Buy the book. And then while you’re reading it, join the conversation about anything you find worth mentioning in the comments section below. Then, in the beginning of April, we’ll select a new soccer book to read as a group.

Order your copy of The Fix today. It’s available from all fine booksellers as well as Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions.

  1. I’m still making my way through the book, but I didn’t finish it in time for March. So far, so good. I’ll post my thoughts about the book when something eyeopening pops up. Feel free to do the same in the meantime.

I’ll be announcing the book for April in the next day or two.
