Bob Costas, a legend of US sports television, announced Sunday night during halftime of the Denver against New Orleans NFL game that NBC Sports had acquired the rights to the English Premier League for seasons 2013-16.

Bob Costas taking time out of the NFL broadcast to mention the English Premier League is a sign of how soccer has grown in this country, and what the acquisition of the TV rights means to NBC.
