Love him or hate him, there are few soccer announcers in the United States who care as much about his art than Ray Hudson. That is, the art of soccer commentary.

There’s no doubt that Hudson loves the game of soccer. It’s his life, so it’s quite fitting that he gets to commentate on some of the most beautiful soccer every weekend — for La Liga games, featuring Real Madrid, Barcelona and other teams — on beIN SPORTS.

After a successful career as a footballer and coach, Hudson began commentating games for GolTV since 2004. Incredibly, in his 11 years of announcing games, he has never had an opportunity to visit Camp Nou. Until now.

Hudson is in Barcelona this weekend to commentate el Clasico alongside his friend and colleague Phil Schoen.

Ever the poet, Hudson eloquently shares his feelings about visiting Camp Nou just as well as he does when announcing games. The videos below of Hudson visiting Barcelona capture Hudson perfectly, and show the human side to a great man.
