Speaking ahead of his club’s exhibition match against FOXTEL A-League All Star Team in Sydney, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba confessed that he and his teammates are concerned about the future of Arturo Vidal with the club.

According to a report from The Sydney Morning Herald today, the Italian champions went through a complete team session at the WIN Jubilee Stadium, but Vidal was left to train on his own before going through some supervised drills due to a knee injury.

The 27-year-old midfielder will not feature in Juventus’ exhibition match against the All Stars on Sunday.

Pogba, who will start in place of Vidal, was asked his thoughts on the transfer rumors surrounding his teammate.

“We’re hearing that Vidal is going but we don’t know,” Pogba said. “For the moment he’s injured, he’s trying to get fit. We want him to stay at Juventus. At the moment he’s here so we won’t speak about him leaving.”

Pogba’s comments may seem innocuous, but until this point, players and officials at Juventus have unilaterally stated that Vidal “was not for sale” and/or the player “would not be leaving”.

Just a few days ago, the Italian newspaper La Stampa reported that Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich had spoken with Manchester United and agreed in principle a deal worth £182,000-a-week; which would bring his annual earnings to nearly £9.5 million.

Over the past 24 hours, stories have surfaced in England and Italy speculating that Vidal’s agent has flown to Turin to speak face-to-face with Juventus officials regarding a “significant bid” from the Premier League side.

Other reports have suggested that United want to fly the Chile international to England to undergo a medical before any transfer is agreed between the two sides.

Speculation is Louis van Gaal wants Vidal and has given his club the “green light” to negotiate a record breaking fee for the player. But the Dutch boss is unwilling to sign off on any deal until he is sure that Vidal’s knee can handle the physical demands of the Premier League.

At this time, there is no news of an official bid from Manchester United for the Juventus midfielder.
