New Manchester United’s manager, Louis van Gaal’s summer has been busy. Aside from coaching the Netherlands’ national team he has signed three players to Manchester United, Angel Di Maria being the latest set to be moving to Old Trafford. According to mutliple reports Di Maria has agreed to a deal of £150,000-a-week after not coming to an agreement with his current club, Real Madrid. While coaching the Dutch, van Gaal has left the signing of new players to his vice-chairman, Edward Woodward.

Recently di Maria was injured against Belgium during a game for Argentina in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but is expected to make a full recovery before the start of the Premier League season. He is however doubtful for the World Cup Final on Sunday. Di Maria’s Argentine side will face Germany with the winner becoming World Champions.

After joining Real Madrid for £25 million and five-years, Di Maria has made 124 appearances and scored 22 goals. Di Maria has made a place for himself among the pacey La Liga side, helping Real win the 2014 Champions League last season. He was moved to a midfield position by manager Carlo Ancelotti during the beginning of the 2013-2014 season but was moved back to attacking central midfielder later in the season.

Making his first appearance for the Argentinian National team during a match against Paraguay in 2008, Di Maria has since earned 52 caps for La Albiceleste and has scored 10 goals. He was included on the 2010 World Cup roster and more recently the 2014 World Cup roster where he scored the game winning goal against Switzerland.

DiMaria’s place in the Real Madrid side was threatened by the signing of Gareth Bale from Spurs last summer. The Argentine star continued to play an important role for Real last season, but is certain to be earn more regular football at Manchester United going forward.
