Angel Di Maria Looks Set For Manchester United Move

New Manchester United’s manager, Louis van Gaal’s summer has been busy. Aside from coaching the Netherlands’ national team he has signed three players to Manchester United, Angel Di Maria being the latest set to be moving to Old Trafford. According to mutliple reports Di Maria has agreed to a deal of £150,000-a-week after not coming to an agreement with his current club, Real Madrid. While coaching the Dutch, van Gaal has left the signing of new players to his vice-chairman, Edward Woodward.

Recently di Maria was injured against Belgium during a game for Argentina in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but is expected to make a full recovery before the start of the Premier League season. He is however doubtful for the World Cup Final on Sunday. Di Maria’s Argentine side will face Germany with the winner becoming World Champions.

After joining Real Madrid for £25 million and five-years, Di Maria has made 124 appearances and scored 22 goals. Di Maria has made a place for himself among the pacey La Liga side, helping Real win the 2014 Champions League last season. He was moved to a midfield position by manager Carlo Ancelotti during the beginning of the 2013-2014 season but was moved back to attacking central midfielder later in the season.

Making his first appearance for the Argentinian National team during a match against Paraguay in 2008, Di Maria has since earned 52 caps for La Albiceleste and has scored 10 goals. He was included on the 2010 World Cup roster and more recently the 2014 World Cup roster where he scored the game winning goal against Switzerland.

DiMaria’s place in the Real Madrid side was threatened by the signing of Gareth Bale from Spurs last summer. The Argentine star continued to play an important role for Real last season, but is certain to be earn more regular football at Manchester United going forward.

  1. utd cannot wait to see more four stars coming to utd.i want to plead to utd vice chairman woodward to act and work on dis players before pre-season like di-maria,vidal,cavani and vermalean.

  2. I don’t think this will happen. I’d like him to come but 50 million Euros? He’s not what we really need. We can get much cheaper and younger wingers or King Arturo if Woodward wants spend silly money.

  3. This screams Juan Sebastian Veron… We all know how that turned out

Not a premier league player for me

  4. He said he wanted Champions League football so I’m not sure why he’d sign with United except if they give him more wages than he can get elsewhere.

  5. I am really happy for Di Maria’s signing. I know dat d problem dat we will have with some players is d fact dat we out from champions league. But how i wish dat some other big players will come to join UTD d England champions to bring back d strength of MAN UTD again

  6. Man united is a big team in the world that any big name will wish to join, but at this point i think they need to splash money for big names to come, i will be happy to see more big names

  7. These reports were rubbished almost as soon as they came out. And Di Maria does not want to join them. Will likely be PSG or staying at RM

    1. There are more reports tonight that Manchester United are interested in signing the player, but that PSG is interested, too. But it looks likely that he’s leaving Real Madrid.

  8. Utd need to flog Nani before they’re stuck with him for another year. I see Van Gaal tapping up half the Dutch team. Reports say he’s already asked Robben to join.

  9. Nope he’s going PSG, always was, moyes ruined every chance of signing top players when he took us out champions leauge

  10. Man u should try nd sign di maria 2 regain d fight back spirit cuz angel is an hard working player ever, am a gud man u fans, nd i tink dat wil be more good if dy spend 4 him , as one of d best world club in england. WE WANT DI MARIA @ MAN UNITED!!
