Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been banned for seven games for headbutting a Hull City footballer on March 1.

The seven match ban will include a three-match stadium ban and a four-match touchline ban. Pardew has been fined £60,000, and warned as to his future conduct.

The incident that generated the ban by The FA was from gameweek 28 of the Premier League when Pardew headbutted Hull’s David Meyler. The incident came after Meyler wanted to quickly take a throw-in, and pushed Pardew. Meyler was correctly booked for unsportsman-like behavior. Pardew then reacted by leading with his head into Meyler’s head. A ludicrous act that he will no doubt regret. Pardew was sent to the stands by referee Kevin Friend.
