USA’s game against Portugal on Sunday, June 22 will be televised live on ABC, according to ESPN Senior Vice President and Executive Producer Jed Drake. The ESPN executive was speaking via phone from Brazil to the US soccer media in Bristol, CT.

In its other games, USA vs Ghana is scheduled for 6pm ET, while USA vs Germany is Noon ET.

The kick-off time for USA vs Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal is perfectly timed for a 5 or 5:30pm ET broadcast and 6pm ET kickoff on Sunday, June 22. The hopes will be that the US can smash the 14.9 million who watched USA vs Ghana on ABC during World Cup 2010.

Yeah. Put it on national TV so everyone can see Nani and Ronaldo tear the US team apart. Lol.

One of the few wins the US has in the World Cup was against Portugal. Interesting group (most of the groups are). Time to see if the US belong or that win streak was bogus. I’m hoping for the prior.

    • Canadian Bacon says:

Lol. Wake me up when Nani does anything this season. And please refrain from putting him in the same sentences as Ronaldo.

  2. Tony Butterworth says:

Wow this is a huge SHOCKER !!!!!!

  3. gillyrosh says:

Network broadcast featuring one of the most popular athletes in the world. Makes sense.

  4. San Fransiscan says:

All the focus on ET, what about us lowly people that are on PT?

  5. CTBlues says:

The US vs Portugal match time has been switched to 6pm local time as are the two other matches in Manaus England vs Italy and Cameroon vs. Croatia.
