Congratulations to Juventus and Ajax for clinching the Serie A and Eredivisie titles respectively.

Juventus beat Palermo 1-0 for their second consecutive Serie A title. The victory gives the Turin side their 29th Serie A title in the club’s history. However, Juve fans unfurled a banner after the game that had the number 31 painted on it. It was their way of reminding everyone that today was actually the 31st time they had won the title. The club was stripped of two of their titles as a result of a match-fixing scandal that occurred several years ago.

In the Netherlands, Ajax won their third consecutive Eredivisie title, which was their 32nd Dutch title. The club won the title with one match remaining in the league season.

Here are video highlights of Juventus clinching the Serie A title today and the pitch invasion that happened after the final whistle blew:

Over in the Eredivisie, Ajax defeated Willem II 5-0 to win the Dutch league. Here are the goal highlights from the match as well as the celebrations of the Amsterdam club lifting the trophy in front of their home fans:

  1. Patrick says:

Credit to Gigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini who stayed with the Old Lady after Calciopoli. When many others cleared out those guys stayed took their licks in Serie B and then on Juve’s relatively long road back to winning the Scudetto.

Looking forward to this year’s Coppa Italia, on the 26th, which will be the spectacle that is Derby Della Capitale.
