Hoffenheim Capture Promising Icelandic Youngster Sigurdsson.

Hoffenheim have snapped up Iceland and Reading wonderkid Gylfi Sigurdsson for a fee believed to be around 5 million euros. Sigurdsson had recently made himself a key player for Reading, impressing especially during Reading’s FA Cup run where they defeated Premier League side Liverpool in dramatic fashion.

Sigurdsson has been purchased to replace attacking midfielder Carlos Eduardo, who has recently joined Russian giants Rubin Kazan. Sigurdsson, at only 20 years old, looks to be a very promising prospect and will look to fulfill that potential with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

Sigurdsson’s creativity and attacking flair will fill the void left by Carlos Eduardo. While Sigurdsson is still a relative unknown throughout Europe, I expect him to burst into fruition with Hoffenheim this season.
