The Arsenal summer tour around the United States has added more dates.

As of press time, Arsenal have scheduled three matches across the country this summer. They are:

Arsenal vs. Everton (Baltimore), July 16
Orlando vs. Arsenal (Orlando), July 20
Arsenal vs. Chelsea (Orlando), July 23

Arsenal summer tour across the United States

This year, the pair of games in Florida joins a contest against Everton in Baltimore on July 16.

Fittingly, the first of the games in Orlando comes against Orlando City at Exploria Stadium. It is the first meeting between the two clubs, with Orlando City only forming near the end of 2013.

Then, the more marquee of the two fixtures is the Florida Cup. Arsenal takes on London rival Chelsea, two sides pegged to qualify for the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League. The winner of the game wins the Florida Cup, which is simply a one-off competition this season.

Previous concerns over Chelsea’s eligibility regarding ownership were squelched recently as a new ownership group succeeded in taking over. In fact, The Boehly Group paid roughly $5.2 billion to take over the Blues. Therefore, there are no issues for Arsenal in playing one of their rivals on foreign soil.

Arsenal’s first fixture in Florida comes on July 20 against Orlando City. The finale in the United States against Chelsea is just three days later at Camping World Stadium.

Gunners back in the U.S.A.

The Gunners return to the United States after the COVID-19 pandemic suspended offseason tours. With no World Cup, the summer months are wide open. This includes a pair of fixtures that are part of the FC Series. This is a national expansion of the Florida Cup, an annual competition involving club teams from Europe, South America and North America.

The Florida Cup is only a competition formed in 2015. However, in its brief history, a number of historic clubs competed. For example, last year, Everton beat Colombian side Millonarios. Previously, competitions featured teams from the top division in Brazil, Germany, Scotland, Colombia, Argentina and the Netherlands.

Arsenal is no stranger to trips to the United States in the summer. In 2019, the Gunners played four times in the U.S., including games against Roma, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
