Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has taken to his Twitter account to express his joy at returning to training for the Merseyside club. The England international won’t be able to return to full training until the rest of his Liverpool teammates return from their national team duties.

Sturridge spent last week finishing off his rehabilitation sessions and has now returned to training.

“Training was class. Happy to be back,” the 24-year-old tweeted earlier today. After Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, the striker had informed his followers that he was “looking forward to returning to full training next week.”

Sturridge has missed 14 matches for the Premier League club and is eyeing a returning against Crystal Palace, Liverpool’s first match following the international break.

“I’ll be ready for that one, God willing,” the striker told BT Sport this weekend. “It’s the worst feeling to be honest but that’s football. Everyone picks injuries up.”

Liverpool are currently in the bottom half of the Premier League table and have only scored fourteen goals after eleven matches.

Last season, Sturridge scored 21 times and assisted on seven goals in 26 league appearances.
