  1. dust says:

C’mon Basel, a 2-0 win please then go to the bridge and play 120 mins with you winning and chelski going out tired and deflated ahead of our game !

    C’mon Basel

  2. Marc L says:

I hope Basel can come back. I really never have had anything against Chelsea but that Basel squad really made a fan of me in those Spurs matches.

  3. mark says:

A dull match after the two Champions League games we just watched. Chelsea could have scored more than two goals, and that Basel penalty looked to be questionable.

  4. CTBlues says:

That was a bs penalty. Cesar got the ball cleanly.

  5. kyle says:

Chelsea will be content with the 2-1 win but I wouldn’t count out Basel quite yet.

The penalty did seem dubious. Not sure what it was really for. Say what you will about Benitez but he knows how to coach in knockout competitions.

    • The Gaffer says:

Good point. Every time Basel looked like they were out of it against Spurs, Basel kept on coming back.

  6. Matt says:

Basel have no shot imo, playing against Chelsea is different than against Spurs in Europe. Chelsea will most likely sit back and Basel don’t have the quality to break them down, if Chelsea don’t half ass it they will win by 2-3 goals. With Spurs they were so open and both legs were like “basketball” matches, wide open, back and forth which suited Basel more.

I’d be surprised if Chelsea fail to win this trophy, even though I would like to see Benfica win it, who did not look good against Fenerbahce tonight but 1:0 down isn’t the end of the world for them.
