    It isn’t a shame. It is Millwall. The team itself try to break from the image of thugs, but the fans mantra is ‘no one likes us and we don’t care’. And much of it is socio economic. The old days of West Ham v Millwall was two downtrodden communities, suffering under the economic thumb of England. Now, West Ham’s fan base is not in the East End but Essex, and Millwall is still well, Millwall. While not all are undereducated, on the dole… The ethos of Millwall is still one of brutality. No matter who they play at the New Den, there will be trouble… It is if time stood still in south London…
