Highlights of dog days in Serie A

At the San Siro, Lazio drew AC Milan,
Fiorentina overcomes Juventus,
Napoli triumphant against Internationale,
leaving only Roma as a top four club to chase visitors Parma from the pitch.

Rolando Bianchi (pictured) celebrates his first goal for Lazio and important opening goal against opponents AC Milan who would later equalize with a goal from Massimo Oddo.

Saturday results saw Lazio travel to the San Siro and draw 1 – 1.Milan are to play London side Arsenal in the 2nd leg Champions League fixture midweek, perhaps the mighty Rossoneri are looking ahead to bigger fish.

the Giallorossi celebration

also Saturday Roma cruised past Parma with a final score of 4 – 0.The Giallorossi had it all rapped up after the 27th minute with the first goal coming from Aquilani. Team captain Francesco Totti would score his own in the 80th while Vucinic added to the tally in the dying moments. G Falcone of Parma would add insult to injury by scoring an o.g. six minutes after the restart, igniting cruise control Roma. Parma have not won at the Olimpico since 1989.

Osvaldo (pictured) scores the winner for Fiorentina but misses the next match, after receiving his second yellow for removing his jersey in celebration.

Someone should do a tattoo expose, why do footballers want to be Beckham?

Final score, 3 – 2 Fiorentina.

and finally, it looks like Roberto Mancini (pictured) has a rough board of directors meeting ahead of him, after losing 0 – 1 to Napoli Sunday. Inter have dwindled a eleven point lead down to six points over second place Roma. It could have been worse if not for the last gasp equalizer by Inter captain, Javier Zanetti, last match day against Roma. The boys in blue won’t be welcoming Champions League opponents Liverpool until March 11th, ten days from today. Surely Inter doesn’t have the same excuse as cross town rivals AC Milan.
