Soccer fans wondering who will broadcast the Peru and Costa Rica World Cup Qualifiers won’t have to stress any longer.

This June, World Soccer Talk has learned that Telemundo will broadcast two major World Cup qualifiers to viewers in the United States. The games featured are Peru versus Australia, as well as Costa Rica against New Zealand. Both games are the inter-confederation play-offs. They determine the two final teams from the CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, AFC and OFC regions.

In the past, the inter-confederation playoff matches were a two-legged home-and-away series. However, these games this June will be single-leg knockout matches. For the 2026 World Cup, a playoff tournament has been proposed to determine the final two places.

Peru and Costa Rica World Cup Qualifiers on TV

World Soccer Talk has confirmed that both Peru vs. Australia and Costa Rica-New Zealand games air on Telemundo Deportes. The games are of particular importance to fans of Peru and Costa Rica, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

A source with knowledge of the situation told World Soccer Talk that the English-language broadcasts of these games will likely appear on FOX Sports. Subsequently, World Soccer Talk reached out to a FOX Sports spokesman for confirmation, but have yet to hear back.

Both Telemundo and FOX Sports are available via streaming services including fuboTV, YouTubeTV, DirecTV Stream and Hulu + Live TV. Free trials are available across all those services.

UEFA World Cup playoff qualification

While the inter-confederation playoff matches decide which two teams head to Qatar, UEFA has one more spot to fill. For instance, Scotland faces Ukraine in a World Cup playoff match on June 1. As a result, the winner of that game faces Wales on June 5. Whomever wins that game advances to Qatar 2022.

The Scotland vs Ukraine and Wales vs. Scotland/Ukraine matches air across TUDN and ESPN channels. Check the World Cup Qualifiers TV schedule for the latest updates.
