The Human Kick (EPL Talk Preview Podcast)

The pod is small this week. We take time to look at Sunderland and their Brucelessness; Liverpool and their Luclessness; and the Carling Cup with it’s significance. Cup competitions are a nice punctuation to a season, but what more can it do to boost an ego?

We dress this around the basis that the human side of sport is what makes it one of the most endearing sports when it comes to narrative, often without trying to be.

Looking forward to next weekend, what do you think is the most significant match? Whilst there are no stand out ties for a “Super-Sunday” it does seem that some teams are desperate to revive their waining season, a step which could be vital before the christmas glut of games. Sorting the boys from the babies: Jesse Chula and Kristan Heneage.

The Liverpool fans who chanted Gary Speed’s name showed pure class. They did it at the beginning and towards the end of the game as well. I’m not a Liverpool fan but I do like the way they show respect to others as when they applauded the Swansea team in their draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

Thanks for the heads up on the Bellamy highlights. I found these on youtube and you’re right, they were very touching.
