Me ‘n’ The Derbies (EPL Talk Review Podcast)

Derby weekend and Super Sunday did some dominating, but to put that in context the rest of the league decided that football was back on the agenda for them too. All accept Stoke and Villa. This week the pod break down on tactics, goal celebrations and memeing.

The featured game is City v. United as United made it out of the stadium with a late winner from RVP, but not before Rooney had masterfully undermined Mancini and his men with some lovely individual skill and a glue like performance which will stick in the memory: history made for Wayne with the 150 mark reached.

Who has impressed you most this season? We’re also talking tables and how well they reflect what is really going on: do you look at the table often? Let’s EPL Talk about it:

Great Pod as ever – just a note because there is a big media push in the UK to have this story become ‘fact’ – Rio celebrated in front of the travelling UNITED fans. He was hit by a coin from the side, which is where City fans were. There are numerous pictures all over the Twitterverse showing this.

On the full video he starts celebrating in front of his own
fans with his team mates, he then looks over towards the city fans
and skips side ways towards them, none of his team mates did this.
He is now right on the corner flag ten foot from City’s fans the
coins that were earlier thrown at rooney can be seen on the floor,
then while facing the Utd fans, even after being hit he screams
yeahhh towards the city fans while raising his arm which is why he
headed there in the first place he’s has done this before probably
learn it from Neville as he was famous for it. The most videos are
cut short to do exactly the opposite of what you are saying.
There are others zoomed out that give a better view but you’d have
to ask why not stay in front of you’re own fans with your team
mates? I’m not condoning what happened these people are vile but
it’s the pathetic double standards of the media that are clearly
wrong what good for the goose etc. See the following video of not
even a celebration just a corner, and there are many more just like
      it. The funny thing is
Rio is actually having a go at Bellamy and Van de Sar is only
trying to clear evidence the ref needs to put in his report!! Even
trying to stop a coin from being given to the ref!! Funny Fergie
has been very outspoken about it at the Etihad, try to look what he
said about it at OT, don’t hold your breath trying to find

Just to set the record straight, this is an angle where you can see where the players are actually celebrating, the video you posted doesn’t show the fans.

The United supporters are in that entire corner of the Etihad, at no point does Rio venture past the edge of the penalty area, much less ‘ screaming towards the City fans’. He’s right next to all the other United players, at most 2 feet to the side of them. You can tell he’s not looking at the City fans because the coin comes in from the side, and hits him perpendicular to where he’s facing.

I take it you’re a City fan, and I have some sympathy as Bellamy definitely received similar treatment. Doesn’t make it right. Nor does it justify the falsification that Rio went over to the City fans. He never did, he celebrated towards the United fans the whole time.

Best angle I’ve seen, 51 seconds on:

The video shows where he is, on the corner flag which is not where he started that was on the 18yrd mark. other pictures will show you where it is and there are other angles. This player has done this before what is different this time?
The Utd fans are not in the corner they are horizontal to the goal up to the flag vertically, utd fans are level with the length of the pitch. i should know I’m a season card holder there! The video shows they start off already past the penalty area for a start look again what do you think that box on the floor is? The comer marker can be seen on the floor that the small white line coming backwards off the pitch I found this video at first zoomed out but this copy has been put in its mot ad clear but the edge of the 18 yrd box is, very clear as was his sideway movement that took him well past it! I don’t need to lie many impartial pundits are saying the same!

Also Rooney slides right up to the city fans after his goal when he’s right in front of his own, I suppose that didn’t happen either or Jones waving his shirt up and down as he was going off to the city fans I suppose the angle makes that look like that and really he was actually in front of his own fans as well not trying to provoke anybody? Rio has a track record of this kind of thing as does Rooney and as did Neville now I guess you can add jones to them. These are supposed to be professional players!

Watch Utd get battered 6-1 in a historic victory and show me once where city player celebrated or behaved like that or go off the pitch waving shirts, they left the pitch with there eyes to the ground professionally not only are Utd bad losers they are clearly poor winners!

In fact I just watch your video where the commentator actually say where he started and that he ‘moved over to the corner flag’ why do he do that when he was originally smack in the middle of his own fans? And why doe he scream ‘yeahhhh ‘ to the City fans? I think if that’s not enough for you nothing will be. Again the fan doing this a total pratts but total pratts being wound up by other total pratts. The vid I posted of Bellamy is of him taking a corner no celebrations no winding up nothing what happens if one of those bottles hit his head instead of the coins? Well what actually happens any way? Nothing! That what.
