Manchester Decides It (EPL Talk Review Podcast)

We may look back on this weekend as the fixtures which secured the title for Manchester United. A 20th title at that. Apt too, as they commemorate the Munich air disaster at Old Trafford with a 2 – 0 win over Everton. The sense of occasion possibly offering more than Everton could overcome with will and momentum.

Elesewhere, City gave up whilst Chelsea decided that giving up was boring: that was after they’d given up weeks ago. Rafa, however, stays. A 4 – 1 win keeps you your job, even if the fans don’t like it. What does that mean for Chelsea’s PR future?

The pod also look at the rest of the weekend’s fixtures and discuss Spurs – Newcastle as the featured match. What was your highlight of the weekend? Let’s EPL Talk about it:

I agree with most of your comments on Allardyce, although I don’t think dropping him will require such an overhaul of the squad unless someone really crummy takes his place. If anything, the makeup of this WHU squad has been at odds with how Allardyce seems to want to use them, and that includes Andy Carroll. He’s brought success by drawing a ton of defensive attention & opening up chances for Nolan et al, but Allardyce wants so badly to hit that target man that we’re now playing 2nd grade boom ball. You could possibly interpret their sluggish play as poor morale resulting from Allardyce’s nongermane tactics. Tell a boxer to keep his hands to himself & win the fight by lobbing bowling balls at his opponent, and congrats you’ve become Big Sam.
