Euro 2012 Daily: Friendly Fire (EPL Talk Podcast)

There were some impressive ‘friendly’ results as we build up towards the tournament. So it’s time to evaluate and report for the podcast. England’s performance seemed to reinforce some of the conclusions that we’ve already made about England, elsewhere: no so much.

We discuss Paul Lambert, why people move around at times like this and which player follow (if they can.) Does it upset you or make you excited for next season? Is there a ‘right time’ to move on from any club? How many managers find it?

Let us know what you think is important in this tournament. Join the chat on Twitter:

I heard a teaser in one of the previous podcasts for a kit review. I love all the tactical and statistical analysis of the teams in the tournament, however, I do have a weakness for a nice football kit. Always love England’s look, very clean. Ireland, usually nice, but what is up with that number font? And why is Spain wearing sky blue? I’ve seen them in navy, but that kit is weak. Maybe I missed the discussion, but I’m pretty sure I heard all the Euro talk available so far.

Whoever thinks Landon is better than Dempsey is obviously doesn’t watch EPL. Landon is a good player in MLS, which is equivalent of Championship side or League 1. You can make all kinds of claim for Landon, but he’s still in lower league. And, short term loan at Everton is like doing well in FA cup or Carling cup, even league 2 team does well in the FA CUP.

Sorry friend, but i think that Landon is better than Dempsey. Landon is a complete player he can play striker or midfielder, not just in name like Dempsey. Dempsey is a striker with free reign to cut in or drift. Landon can actually create opportunities for others, aswell as score goals hes a really complete player. Its true that Landon has slowed down alot in the last 2 yrs but he is still a great player. I remember Dempsey saying that this year was his 1st yr scoring a free kick in a game, Landon has been dynamic from set plays for yrs. There is no doubt that Dempsey has had a better season than Landon ever has but one season doesnt make a player better than another.

BTW the league argument is one of the stupidest arguments one can make for a player being better than another. Because Neymar is a better player than Dempsey and 90% of all EPL players but he plays in a lower league. Hernandez had a good season at Chivas in the Mexican League then walked into the EPL and had success. Jelovic played in the SPL then walked into the EPL and had success. So please dont base a players ability on which league he plays in.
