All right, there is absolute billsh*t about Bayern on this podcast. What so bad about Bayern have a great financial strategy and also how the hell is Mancester United more succesful. Man U have less domestic titles and only 3 Champions Leagues.Bayern have 4 CL titles and 9 finals.

Can some one help Kartik get another computer and better internet connection? Honestly.

AJ, I agree. We’re working on trying to ensure that we have a better phone connection. With his NASL responsibilities, sometimes we can only catch him on a cellphone in a car enroute to another location.

Congratulations to chelsea…but let us hope that they would learn how to attack before next season kicks off

I’m a United fan but hats off to Chelsea, they did a great job in the CL. It doesn’t matter if Bayern had an “off” day or not. They lost….as did Barca and the others…and Chelsea won.

I should have known it was coming, but I still couldn’t bear to listen to Kartik’s sanctimonious whining about the Bayern consipracy to dominate the continent via Financial Fair Play. I can empathize with his position- it must be difficult indeed to have an owner willing to run billions of dollars into the red in order to purchase trophies- I, too, might be tempted to incessant moaning were I so burdened. However, I quite failed to understand the bit about ‘bullying’ with regards Jerome Boateng- if Man City thought the price offered was too low, why did they agree? The answer is that with no incentive for Mansour to limit his liabilities, it doesn’t matter how much they got in return- QED.

Finally someone else voices what ive pick up on all season long. Why does Kartik keep giving off the “woe is me and Manchester City” all season long, in addition to after they already won the league. Bad form Kartik, bad form. Stop trying to justify all of the money that City spent and make the other high spending clubs such as Barca, Bayern, and Madrid sound like the greater of the evils. Just accept that you won the title and move on. Wocka, wocka!

        Hey Guys,

I guess we can ask Kartik about this in the season review because it is an interesting discussion. But I guess that Kartik’s point is that the established hegemony is being challenged in the higher tiers right now as money etc floods into clubs. Some don’t like it and hide behind certain rules or power structures to keep their dominance.

I think the argument kinda falls down because money isn’t always the key in football and money in itself is a way of keeping the status quo, especially in the way that football clubs use it.

Kartik has a lot to be happy for, I take the blame for asking him about it, we just want interesting discussion and I think this probably counts…right?

I just heard that part of the podcast, and it made me lol, if only for the fact that I think there are several clubs that give Bayern a run for their money in the arrogance department.

Chelsea won fairly, but I think it might be more accurate to say that Bayern lost. Despite that, calling them “Kings of Europe”, or the best club, or whatever other superlative is just inaccurate.
When you have a series of games that you win by some miracle or obvious upset, it doesn’t confirm that you’re better than those teams (it seems to actually highlight that those teams are superior to you) just that ON THAT DAY your luck won out.
So congrats to Chelsea; it would’ve been embarrassing to have spent such ridiculous amounts of money for so many years and NOT to have won.

It’s frustrating that this win denies Spurs CL next season, despite having categorically outplayed Chelsea. Hopefully their targets can recognize a team doing better every year and see the lack of CL next season as the bureaucratic fluke it is.

Disclaimer: from an obvious Spurs fan.

West Ham Utd for relegation in 2013! Go back down you bums. Send Aston V down too next year and rid the EPL of these hideious claret and blue clubs.

For all the Chelsea Haters especially those pointing at all the teams that had off days, STOP! Chelsea Won fair and Square, every team needs talent and luck to win. Chelsea beat Napoli not by sitting in their half and defending, but by a solid margin. They beat Barca with 10 men. And they beat Bayern and for now are Kings of Europe.

Bayern sure picked a hell of an off day.

      May 21, 2012 at 8:35 am

You can just add Bayern to the list of teams that had off days against Chelsea in the Champions League this year. A list including Benfica, Napoli, and Barcelona. The off day of Bayern was just one of the 600 or so minor miricals that lead to Chelsea winning.

I am so NOT conflicted about last night’s result. It merely cemented my intense dislike of Chelsea.
