The growing interest in Leeds United among soccer fans in the U.S. is paying off. So much so that the team’s game on Wednesday, November 9 in the League Cup is going to be televised on ESPN2 and ESPN+. Not only that, but the 2:45PM ET Leeds-Wolves cup game is going to serve as an apéritif before the USMNT World Cup squad announcement.

Once the broadcast of Leeds-Wolves ends on ESPN2, the coverage will switch to Brooklyn, to unveil the USMNT roster.

How to watch the USMNT World Cup Roster Reveal

The USMNT World Cup Roster Reveal event begins at 5 p.m., with live coverage from Brooklyn Steel in New York City. Brooklyn Steel, an 1,800-capacity music venue, is a hall where attendees stand. However, the event is invite-only. There is also a reception and post-reveal party on either side of the actual announcement of names.

For those watching at home, the hourlong program is available through both traditional TV and streaming. As stated, viewers can watch at 5 p.m. on either ESPN2 or ESPN+. In addition to the reveal and Gregg Berhalter, there are players appearing who are making the trip to Qatar to play.

Host Kay Murray and analysts Taylor Twellman and Jermaine Jones will announce U.S. Soccer’s 26-person roster of players who will represent the United States at the World Cup in Qatar from Nov. 20 – Dec. 18

ESPN’s soccer coverage

Even though FOX Sports have the rights to the 2022 World Cup, ESPN acquired the rights to broadcast the big USMNT event. It’s just part of a busy week for soccer on ESPN+.

Other than Leeds United’s League Cup game against Wolves, ESPN+ is streaming several more games from the competition. In Germany, there’s a full mid-week of action from the Bundesliga. Plus November 6 is the air-date for ESPN E60’s special on the controversy in Qatar.

Speaking of Leeds United, the irony is that it’s Jesse Marsch is in charge of the Elland Road club. Depending on how well USMNT Head Coach Gregg Berhalter does at World Cup 2022, Marsch would be the favorite for the US job if Berhalter doesn’t make the grade. There’s still a long way to go before that happens. In the meantime, we wish Berhalter the best of luck in Qatar 2022.
