Nicol’s Defense Steals the Show

Taylor Twelllman and Steve Ralston seem to have gotten most of the ink this season for the Revolution, and why not? Ralston broke the all time MLS assists record set by his mentor Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama earlier this season and Twellman as he did again last night has been breaking opponents hearts with improbable goals. Robbie Fowler MLS Bound?

Today’s somewhat shocking signing of Andriy Voronin by Liverpool effective when the Summer transfer window opens in July would seem to suggest that the persistent rumors that ex- Liverpool star Steve Nichol (who now manages the New England Revolution) is looking to bring Robbie Fowler to MLS have credibility. Fowler scored two PK goals for the Reds over the weekend in the 4-0 drubbing of Sheffield United but he has been used sparingly since returning to Liverpool from Man City during the January 2006 transfer window.
