England vs Italy on TV: UEFA Nations League coverage details

England vs Italy on TV

You can find England vs Italy on TV when the Euro 2020 finalists battle in the UEFA Nations League.

While that game from July of 2021 finished on penalties in favor of Italy, this game is much less significant. The UEFA Nations League is more so just a competitive edge to friendlies. However, in the two prior tournaments, both nations have relative success. In the inaugural competition in 2019, Italy finished third. Two years later, England matched that feat with a bronze of its own.

Since then, the broadcaster of the competition is now FOX, with games on fuboTV. This is one of those contests, at least for English-language broadcasts.

As stated previously, the last time these two European giants met was on July 11. Italy’s win on penalties hushed a vivacious Wembley Stadium as a young England side missed three-consecutive penalties.

Italy defeating England in a major tournament is something of a trend. Prior to Euro 2020, Italy won or at least advanced in each of the four previous meetings between the two at either the World Cup or European Championships. Italy, en route to a runner-up finish at Euro 2012, defeated the English on penalties in the quarterfinals.

While this is not as big of a rivalry as England-Germany or Italy-France, these are two of the most dominant nations in the world of soccer.

Watching the UEFA Nations League

Therefore, the fact that the two go head-to-head in a ‘competitive’ game is something for fans to enjoy.

You can watch England vs Italy on TV in the United States in either English or Spanish. FOX acquired the rights to the English-language broadcasts of the UEFA European Championships and the UEFA Nations League. However, with only a couple of channels to work with, FOX cannot air each game. Therefore, FOX licenses some of the coverage of games out to fuboTV, where it is exclusive in the United States.

Consequently, some major games are only on fuboTV and the Fubo Sports Network. Case in point, the England vs Italy game is on TV, but on the Fubo Sports Network channels. There is a free Fubo Sports Network channel. However, this is NOT the free channel. In order to watch England-Italy, you must be a subscriber to the fuboTV service. The base price for this service is $69.99. Yet, there is a seven-day free trial available, as seen in the link above.

This season’s Nations League

Italy and England are part of an elite group in this season’s UEFA Nations League. For those curious, there are three different leagues. England and Italy, unsurprisingly, are in the top league. In that league, there are 16 teams split into four groups of four. The other teams in the group with Italy and England are Germany and Hungary.

After each nation plays home and away fixtures against the other three teams in the group, the top team qualifies for the semifinals of the competition. From there, it is single-game elimination to determine the UEFA Nations League winner.

The defending champion of the competition is France, while Portugal won the first UEFA Nations League title in 2019.

some teams are using the nations league for training for young players, giving the first team a break. teams like the poles and dutch whose majority of players are in leagues outside their country are playing to maintain their position or move higher. not a surprise the underachieving dutch are taking this more serious than say the french. curious if there will be another nations league competition when things get back to normal….

I was watching Netherlands vs Poland on FS2 and loved every minute of it. It finished 2-2. The Dutch came back after being down 2 goals to tie the game. Memphis Depay missed a penalty. The stadium in Feyenoord was almost sold out. The atmosphere was awesome, fans singing. The commentators on the world feed Kevin Keatings & Stewart Robson said this feels like a World Cup Final, not a Nations League game. You couldn’t take your eyes away for a second.

This futbo is a joke. No one wants to pay $70 to watch soccer per month.

ViX is free. But I’m watching now and it’s a little choppy. Better than nothing.

You know what’s hilarious? Watch the Charlotte Red Bulls game on ABC. Looks like it’s in SD and they keep the scorebar on the bottom the whole time to promote all their other sports. And fox is garbage?
