All summer long, we’re continuing our series that focuses on collecting soccer stickers and trading cards. This week, it’s a vintage English soccer sticker collection from the 1979/80 season. Produced by Ava Americana and titled Football Special 79, this collection has a special meaning for me (as well as many soccer collectors from the late seventies and early eighties).

Featuring the classic Liverpool team that had just won the top-flight title in the 1978/79 season, the Football Special 79 soccer sticker album includes many legendary footballers from the division including Andy Gray, Pat Jennings, Trevor Francis, Ray Wilkins, Paul Mariner, Kenny Dalglish, Martin O’Neill, Glenn Hoddle, Laurie Cunningham, Cyrille Regis and many others.
