Milan (AFP) – Antonio Sanabria has tested positive for coronavirus, his new club Torino said on Sunday while announcing the Paraguay striker’s arrival from Real Betis.

The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Serie A strugglers.

“As part of the medical tests, and following further checks, the player was positive for Covid-19,” Torino said.

“Sanabria, who is asymptomatic and has not yet had any contact with the team group, was immediately placed in isolation.”

Torino are hovering above the relegation zone with just two league wins this season, the last coming six games ago.

Sanabria played under new Torino coach Davide Nicola during a loan spell at Genoa during the 2019-2020 season, when he scored nine goals in 39 games.

The Paraguay international joined Real Betis from Roma in 2016 scoring 21 in 84 games.
