Messi misses first pre-season training session as Barcelona stand-off continues

Madrid (AFP) – Lionel Messi boycotted Barcelona’s first pre-season training session on Monday, club sources have confirmed to AFP, as the striker upped the stakes in his battle to leave this summer.

After skipping coronavirus tests on Sunday, Messi was absent again from the Ciutat Esportiva, where Ronald Koeman held a session at 5.30pm, his first since being appointed Barca coach.

It appears increasingly likely Messi will try to force a transfer by refusing to play in La Liga next season, which begins on September 12.

At this point what side is actually losing. Barcelona has 1 more year and the contract was upheld so truth be told Messi should be at “work” and thusly should be the loser in this offseason.
However Messi was screwed by the Covid shutdown and in many fans opinions should be able to transfer now.

My personal thought or fear is Barcelona doesn’t allow Messi to leave and in turn Messi “just phones it in” all season. If that happens does All parties lose and both Barcelona and Messi both take a PR hits. Or is it Just Messi for not giving 100% or is it Barcelona losing the pR battle for not allowing Messi to go to another team.
