Monterrey’s 3-2 victory over Al Sadd in the Second Round of the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup averaged 293,000 viewers on FOX Deportes, up nearly 100,000 viewers from Chivas de Guadalajara’s 3-2 defeat against Kashima Antlers in the Second Round of the 2018 tournament on Telemundo. Monterrey’s game was the most-watched FIFA Club World Cup non-Final match since 2016 when Club América last participated.
In the Premier League, Manchester City’s victory over Arsenal last Sunday afternoon averaged a combined 791,000 viewers on NBCSN and Telemundo, enough to rank as the most-watched soccer broadcast of the week. The day before, NBC’s broadcast featuring Southampton and West Ham drew 706,000 viewers, up 15% from the network’s last Premier League broadcast on November 30.
TNT’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage has averaged 267,833 viewers during the 3-5PM ET broadcast window, up a slight 4.5% from 2018. Liverpool’s home match against Napoli on November 27 of this year was TNT’s most-viewed Champions League Group Stage match ever, drawing 413,000 viewers to the network. During the same 3PM ET window, Univision’s networks averaged 454,417 viewers, down 32% from 2018.
