I enjoy Kelly Cates and Ian Wright (The Kelly and Wrighty Show) for EPL Previews and Reviews. James Richardson has a lot of clever takes as well when he hosts.

Graham Souness and whoever the guest and Monday night football David Jones Jamie Carreker and whoever the guest And Saturday night football Kelly Kate and Jamie Redknapp and Friday night football, Kelly Kates and Gary Neville.. List of commentators Martin Tyler and Bill Leslie and rob Harthorn And occasionally Daniel mann and Alan Parry and Gary Neville and Jamie Carreker and Andy Hinchcliff and Alan Smith And So that’s what you’re missing out on if you want NBC Sports up to you if you prefer that .

What happened to Martin Tyler today?

      August 19, 2019 at 4:23 pm

Maybe Christopher knows why the change was made. I was really looking forward to hearing Martin Tyler today.

      • Christopher Harris

        August 19, 2019 at 7:05 pm

Martin Tyler got picked to do the Sky Sports lead commentary of the Wolves-Man United at the last minute, so Peter Drury did the world feed instead of Martin.

          August 19, 2019 at 7:08 pm

          Thank you, Christopher.

          August 19, 2019 at 9:50 pm

doesn’t NBCSN usually broadcast that feed though?

          • Christopher Harris

            August 19, 2019 at 10:10 pm

For games, NBCSN uses the world feed, not the feed from Sky Sports. They either use the world feed commentary or put their own commentary over the top of it (when they use Arlo White).

Danny Higginbotham tweets today that he’s on Monday’s call with Peter Drury.

      August 19, 2019 at 3:29 am

God please let it be Martin Tyler. On the World Feed we’ve already had Drury five times in two weeks on EPL and Carabao Cup.

      • Jim

        August 19, 2019 at 4:08 am

Actually it would be seven times if Peter Drury is on again tomorrow. Blech.

          August 19, 2019 at 5:50 am

lucky you are having Peter Drury we are stuck with Darren Fletcher for 36 Premier League games for 33 Champions League keep trying listen to him then complain And even worse than the co-commentators for Premier League Chris Sutton and Martin Keogh .

          • Jon

            August 19, 2019 at 12:20 pm

Don’t really mind Chris Sutton although he can be quite negative (like Gary Birtles). Can’t stand Drury’s style (he is either loved or hated on these commentator sites); it was great before to have the possibility of Jon Champion or Martin Tyler instead.

I’ll take Sky Sports any day over NBC Sports or any other network. The commentators are not the issue. NBC Sports and the way they present the Premier League is the problem. I’m sure Sky Sports doesn’t have commercials running on the screen every few minutes during the game. EPL fans in the USA look up to Sky Sports and dream, perhaps someday we will experience the greatness Sky offers to viewers in the UK or something similar.

Azer, I think you’d quite enjoy what we have in Canada now through DAZN. Every game is streamed live and made immediately available afterward for rewatching (unfortunately just for a week). The feeds are all the Premier League Productions (World Feed), The subpar streaming (low frame rate) is probably the biggest downside for me. Looks fine on a tablet but on my 4K TV (despite really high speed internet) the motion is jerky. I wouldn’t go back to TSN’s haphazard scheduling.

Sky Sports has its fair share of critics – I say this as a UK resident and Sky customer. The difference with UK TV as a whole is that we’re far less driven by the advertisers like how US TV is. We get an advert break just before kickoff but then nothing for about 50 minutes, then around 2 during halftime followed by nothing again for the next 50 minutes or so.

On screen is the Sky Sports Premier League logo in top right and the score bar in the top left. Our score bar is a fraction of the size of the monstrosity used by NBC.

“Our score bar is a fraction of the size of the monstrosity used by NBC.”

Haha, I cannot stand how large the NBC score/time graphics are. It takes effort to divert your eyes from it and actually watch the action on the field. Which is probably what they want since that’s where they display the in game advertising graphics.

Eish I really miss Jon Champion as 2nd premier league world feed commentator Jim Proudfoot is really boring

    • Jon

      August 17, 2019 at 2:42 am

I really miss Jon Champion on both EPL and Championship broadcasts. He gives his best to whatever he does but I find it slightly painful to listen to him forced to do schlocky MLS stuff (like interviewing Jeezy and trying to keep up with the commentary at the same time). Jim Proudfoot is just fine but quite straightforward in style.

Peter Drury and Jim Beglin are doing Manchester City v. Tottenham on Saturday & Chelsea v. Leicester City on Sunday for the world feed.

    Thanks, looks good.
Good to see Saints being chosen as the 3pm UK time NBCSN TV game. Here’s to seeing the other team having a player sent off for 2 dives in the penalty area.

A biased, arrogant, cocky Saints fan getting all the upvotes he wants on this site, what more can we ask?
